Todos tienen fe en el poder del amor. Cuando preguntan «¿cómo podemos desarrollar nuestro amor por el Señor?», la respuesta es «hay una sola manera: poner en práctica el amor hacia aquello en lo que tienen fe; entonces, ese amor crecerá». Ya que ustedes no practican lo que profesan, su fe se debilita. Una planta solo crece si es regada regularmente. Cuando siembran la semilla del amor, solo pueden hacer que crezca regándola cada día con amor. El árbol del amor crecerá, y dará los frutos del amor. Ni los hombres ni las mujeres realizan hoy aquellos actos que promueven el amor. Si quieren desarrollar amor por el Señor, deben practicar continuamente la amorosa devoción por el Señor. La devoción debe fluir del corazón, como ocurría con las Gopikas. Mucho de lo que hoy pasa por devoción, es artificial. Desarrollen
la pura y sincera devoción, y santifiquen su vida. (Divino Discurso, 2 de septiembre de 1991)

 

Everyone has faith in the power of love. When people ask, «How can we develop our love for the Lord?» The answer is: «There is only one way – to put into practice the love in which you have faith, then that love will grow.» Because you do not practice what you profess, your faith gets weakened. A plant will grow only when it is watered regularly. When you plant the seed of love, you can make it grow only by watering it with love every day. The tree of love will grow and yield the fruits of love. Men and women today do not perform those acts which will promote love. When you wish to develop love for the Lord, you must continually practice loving devotion to the Lord. Devotion should flow from the heart, as was the case with the Gopikas. Much of what passes for devotion nowadays is artificial. Develop pure and sincere devotion, and sanctify your lives. (Divine Discourse, 2 Sep 2, 1991)

¡Encarnaciones del Amor Divino! Cuando la mente está enfocada en cosas del mundo, se denomina Anuraga (afecto o apego) y si está vuelta hacia Dios, se lo denomina Prema (Amor o devoción). El Amor es el fruto del amor. El Amor es comparable solamente con el Amor. El Amor solo puede ofrecer amor. El Amor no puede ser descripto por la poesía. No puede ser comprobado por la mente o la palabra hablada. En consecuencia, los Vedas declaran que el Amor puro trasciende la mente y el habla. El Amor es invaluable e indescriptiblemente precioso. Su dulzura es insuperable. Las escrituras describen al néctar (Amrit) como indescriptiblemente dulce. Pero el Amor es mucho más dulce que el néctar. El Amor solo puede ser alcanzado por el amor. El Amor es un diamante precioso que solo puede ser obtenido dentro de la esfera del amor y en ninguna otra parte. El reino del amor está ubicado en un corazón

Embodiments of Divine Love! When the mind is turned towards things of the world, it is called Anuraga (affection or attachment) and if it is turned towards God, it is called Prema (Love or devotion). Love is the fruit of love. Love is comparable only with love. Love can offer only love. Love cannot be described by poetry. It cannot be proved by the mind or the spoken word. Hence the Vedas declare that pure love transcends mind and speech. Love is priceless and indescribably precious. Its sweetness is unexcelled. Scriptures describe nectar (Amrit) as indescribably sweet. But Love is far sweeter than nectar. Love can be got only through love. Love is a precious diamond which can be got only in the realm of love and nowhere else. The kingdom of Love is located in a heart filled with love. Love can be experienced only in a mind flowing with love and a heart filled with love. (Divine Discourse, Sep 2, 1991)

Había un enorme halo de esplendor iluminando el cielo sobre la villa cuando Cristo nació. Esto significaba que Él, quien superaría la oscuridad de la maldad y la ignorancia había tomado nacimiento, que Él derramará la Luz del Amor en los corazones de todos los hombres y mujeres. Cuando celebran el nacimiento de Cristo, resuelvan llevar vidas realizando servicios amorosos a los débiles, desamparados, angustiados y desconsolados. Cultiven la tolerancia, la paciencia, la caridad y magnanimidad. Sostengan los apreciados ideales que Jesús enseñó y practíquenlos en sus vidas cotidianas. Sin embargo, la forma en que la Navidad es celebrada ahora muestra ¡cuánto se ha alejado la gente de estos nobles ideales! Se reverencia la hora de la medianoche, se organiza iluminación, el árbol de Navidad está listo, pero entonces, ¿pasan el resto
de la noche llenándose de Bienaventuranza Divina? Purifiquen sus corazones, realicen actividades sagradas y sean amorosos hacia todos. Esa es la mejor manera de celebrar la Navidad. Bhagavan Sri Sathya Sai Baba, Divino Discurso del 24 de diciembre de 1972.

 

There was a huge halo of splendour illuminating the sky over the village when Christ was born. This meant that He, who was to overcome the darkness of evil and ignorance had taken birth, that He will spread the Light of Love in the hearts of all men and women. When you celebrate the birth of Christ, resolve to lead your life performing loving service to the weak, helpless, distressed and disconsolate. Cultivate tolerance, forbearance, charity and magnanimity. Hold dear the ideals Jesus taught and practice them in your daily lives. However, the ways in which Christmas is celebrated now shows how far people have moved away from these noble ideals! The midnight hour is revered, illumination is arranged, the Christmas tree is set up, but then, do you spend the rest of the night filling yourself with Divine Bliss? Purify your hearts, perform holy activities, and be loving towards everyone. That is the best way of celebrating Christmas. (Divine Discourse,
