Piensa por un momento : ¿qué beneficio obtendrás prestando oídos a chismes y hablando innecesariamente sobre cosas no sagradas ? ¡Ninguno ! En realidad, estarás contaminando tu corazón en ese proceso. Todo lo que ves y oyes resulta impreso en tu corazón. Una vez que tu corazón se haya contaminado, tu vida se volverá intrascendente. Los otros días, mientras les hablaba a los devotos de Visakhapatnam, les cité este ejemplo: «El corazón humano es como una lapicera. El color de las palabras que escribas será idéntico al color de la tinta que tenga la lapicera». Por lo tanto, enseña a tus oídos a escuchar las historias del Señor en lugar de prestar atención a vanas habladurías. Sólo cuando llenes tu corazón con amor inegoísta, todo lo que pienses, digas y hagas estará revestido de amor.
Recuerda, Dios espera que llenes tu corazón con amor y que lleves una vida sagrada.

Think for a while, what benefit will you gain by listening to gossip and talking unnecessarily about unsacred things? Nothing! In fact, you will be polluting your heart in the process. All that you see and hear gets imprinted on your heart. Once your heart is polluted, your life will become meaningless. The other day, while speaking to the devotees from Visakhapatnam, I quoted this example: “Human heart is like a pen. The colour of the words that you write will be the same as the colour of the ink in the pen.” Hence, teach your ears to listen to the stories of the Lord instead of listening to vain gossip. Only when you fill your heart with selfless love, all that you think, say and do will be suffused with love. Remember, God expects you to fill your heart with love and lead a sacred life.

¡Encarnaciones del amor! ¿Por qué deben buscar a Dios cuando Él está en todas partes? ¡Ustedes son Dios! Todas las prácticas espirituales (Sadhana) serán en vano si no conocen su verdadera identidad. ¡Primero sepan quiénes son! En lugar de preguntar a los demás: «¿Quién eres?», mejor pregúntense: «¿Quién soy yo?» Ustedes dicen: «¡Este es mi libro!» ¿Quién es este «yo»? Este sentimiento de ‘yo, mío’ es ilusión (maya). Todo esto es materia. Todo esto es negativo. Son los amos de este mundo material. Sean amos de su mente y sean genios. Deben hacer todo lo posible para conocer su verdadera identidad. Para conocer su verdadero yo, primero renuncien al apego corporal. Cuando dicen, «este es mi pañuelo», «ustedes» están separados de su «pañuelo». Del mismo modo, cuando dicen, «este es mi cuerpo,
mi mente», ¿no están separados del cuerpo y de la mente? La pregunta que aún queda es «¿quién soy yo?» La constante indagación en este sentido los conducirá a la Autorrealización. (Discurso Divino, 14 de marzo de 1999).

 

Embodiments of Love! Why should you search for God when He is everywhere? You are God! All spiritual practices (Sadhana) will go in vain if you do not know your true identity. First know who you are! Instead of asking others, “Who are you?” better ask yourself, “Who am I?” You say, “This is my book!” Who is this ‘I’? This feeling of ‘I, my’ is illusion (maya). All this is matter. All this is negative. You are the master of this material world. Master your mind and be a mastermind. You should make every effort to know your true identity. To know your true self, first give up body attachment. When you say, “this is my handkerchief,” ‘you’ are separate from your ‘handkerchief’. Similarly, when you say, “this is my body, my mind”, are you not separate from the body and the mind? The question that still remains is, “who am I?” Constant
enquiry on these lines would lead you to Self-realisation. (Divine Discourse, Mar 14, 1999).

Ofrezcan a Dios la flor del control de los sentidos (indriya nigraha). Todas las prácticas espirituales resultarán inútiles si carecen del control de los sentidos. La falta de control de los sentidos es la principal causa de todos los disturbios y agitación que encuentran en el mundo de hoy. ¿Cómo pueden controlar los sentidos? En primer lugar, deben ejercer control sobre la lengua. Deben controlar la lengua ya que siempre anhela una variedad de delicias. Hagan esta pregunta, «¡Oh lengua, cuántas bolsas de arroz, trigo y verduras has devorado! ¡Cuántas delicias has consumido! ¡Qué vergüenza si todavía no está satisfecha!» Coman sólo para satisfacer el hambre y sostener el cuerpo. No den demasiada importancia al gusto. Del mismo modo, digan a sus ojos que vean a Dios en lugar de ver cosas no santas en la televisión o en los medios de
comunicación. Enseñen a sus oídos a escuchar las historias del Señor en lugar de escuchar chismes vanos. (Discurso Divino, 22 de agosto de 2000).

 

Offer to God the flower of sense control (indriya nigraha). All spiritual practices will prove futile if you lack sense control. Lack of sense control is the main cause of all the unrest and agitation that you find in the world today. How can you control the senses? First, you should exercise control over the tongue. You must control your tongue as it always craves for a variety of delicacies. Ask this question, “O tongue, how many bags of rice, wheat and vegetables have you devoured! How many delicacies have you consumed! Fie on you if you are still not satisfied!” Eat only to satisfy your hunger and sustain the body. Do not give undue importance to taste. Likewise, tell your eyes to see God instead of watching unsacred things on the television or media. Teach your ears to listen to the stories of the Lord instead of listening to vain gossip. (Divine Discourse, Aug 22, 2000).

Hoy el hombre ha tomado muchos caminos para adquirir sabiduría. Todo el conocimiento que uno ha adquirido no es conocimiento verdadero en el sentido estricto del término. El conocimiento del espíritu, conocimiento Átmico, es el verdadero conocimiento. Eso es Brahma Jnana (Conocimiento de la Divinidad). Trabajo, adoración y sabiduría – todos comienzan con el servicio. No importa qué servicio sea, si se hace con amor y sentimientos divinos, se convierte en adoración (upasana). ¿Qué es la sabiduría? Todas las acciones relacionadas con nuestros sentidos, los objetos fugaces del mundo material, hablan de nuestra ignorancia. La sabiduría amanece en el momento en que la mente se retira. El estado ausente de pensamientos entre dos pensamientos consecutivos es Brahma Jnana. Ustedes no pueden experimentar este estado sin pensamientos de Brahman y se dejan llevar por cosas
fugaces, efímeras y momentáneas. La verdadera sabiduría emerge cuando todos los pensamientos son diezmados. La filosofía de Bhagavan requiere que practiquen la unidad en el trabajo, la adoración y la sabiduría. (Discurso Divino, 14 de marzo de 1999).

 

Today man has taken to many paths to acquire wisdom. All the knowledge that one has acquired is not true knowledge in the strict sense of the term. Knowledge of the spirit, Atmic knowledge, is the true knowledge. That is Brahma Jnana (Knowledge of the Divine). Work, worship, and wisdom – all begin with service. No matter what service it is, if it is done with love and divine feelings, it becomes worship (upasana). What is wisdom? All actions related to our senses, the fleeting objects of the material world,speak of our ignorance. Wisdom dawns the moment the mind is withdrawn. The thoughtless state between two consecutive thoughts is Brahma Jnana. You are not able to experience this thoughtless state of Brahman and are carried away by fleeting, ephemeral, and momentary things. True wisdom dawns when all thoughts are decimated. Bhagawan’s philosophy requires you to practice unity in work, worship, and wisdom. (Divine Discourse, Mar 14, 1999)
