Cuando algunos amigos, personas que nos aprecian o parientes colocan un regalo en nuestras manos, lo aceptamos con mucho gusto, aunque no nos agrade, porque nuestra aceptación los complace. Cuando el regalo nos agrada, nuestra reacción es entusiasta. Lo atesoramos y nos llenamos de él. Sepan que Dios también reacciona de la misma manera a lo que el hombre Le ofrece. Cuando la ofrenda no es pura, puede que Él la acepte a fin de satisfacer el anhelo del devoto o aspirante. Pero cuando la ofrenda Lo complace por su pureza y sinceridad, Él la recibe con beneplácito y Su alegría se traduce en abundante Gracia. Así,¡deben realizar una introspección, descubrir y decidir acerca de la ofrenda que deleitará a Dios! Ofrézcanle su amor y virtudes con pureza y sinceridad para,de esta manera, recibir Sus bendiciones y Gracia en abundancia. La educación es un proceso de
cultura. Planten semillas saludables y potentes en el campo interno de su corazón y recojan una cosecha abundante del valioso fruto: las virtudes. Discurso Divino del 5 de diciembre de 1985.

 

When some friends, well-wishers or relatives place a gift-article in our hands, we accept it gladly, though it does not please us, because our acceptance pleases them. When the gift pleases us, our reaction is hearty. We treasure it and are filled with it. Know that God too reacts the same way to what man offers Him. If the offering is tainted, He may accept it in order to satisfy the longing of the devotee. But when the offering pleases Him in its purity and sincerity, He welcomes it and His joy translates itself as abundant grace. So you must introspect, discover and decide on the offering that gives Him delight! Offer Him your love and virtues, with purity and sincerity to receive His blessings and Grace in abundance. Education is a process of culture. Plant healthy and potent seeds in the inner field of your heart, and reap a plentiful harvest of the valuable fruit – the virtues. (Divine Discourse, Dec 05, 1985)

El conocimiento del Verdadero Ser (Atma Jnana) surge sólo cuando tienen pureza de corazón (Chitta Shuddhi). Esta pureza puede ser lograda solamente mediante el cumplimiento correcto de todas los deberes que les han sido asignados (karmas). El cuerpo, la mente y el Atma, los tres son inextricablemente interdependientes. Cuando están separados, la vida pierde su significado. Cuando el cuerpo está sujeto a la mente y la mente es controlada por el Atma, la vida alcanza su plenitud. Cuando sólo el cuerpo predomina, el ser humano desciende al nivel del animal. Cuando la mente prevalece sobre el cuerpo y los sentidos, el nivel humano es alcanzado. Cuando el Atma prevalece sobre la mente y el cuerpo, la Divinidad es realizada.
Por lo tanto, el Gita recomienda un sendero de tres pasos hacia la Divinidad. Ocupar el cuerpo en buenas acciones, usar la mente para desarrollar buenos pensamientos y, de esta manera, llegar a
estar calificado para contemplar a Dios por medio de Upasana (la adoración).Continúen en el camino, alcanzarán la etapa en la cual, como un río que se une al océano, se fundirán en lo Divino. Discurso Divino del 28 de septiembre de 1984.

 

Knowledge of the True Self (Atma Jnana) dawns only when you have purity of heart (Chitta Shuddhi). This purity can be achieved only through righteous discharge of all your assigned duties (karmas). The body, the mind and the Atma – all three are inextricably interdependent. When they are separate, life loses its meaning. When the body is submissive to the mind and the mind is controlled by the Atma, life finds fulfilment. When the body alone is predominant, the human descends to the level of the animal. When mind prevails over body and senses, human level is attained. When Atma prevails over mind and body, Divinity is realised. Hence, Geeta recommends a three-step path to Divinity. Engaging the body in good deeds, using the mind to develop good thoughts, and thus becoming qualified to contemplate on God through Upasana (worship)! Continue on the path, you will reach the stage when like a river joining the ocean you will merge in the Divine. Divine

De nada les sirve el mero reconocer que el Señor ha venido, si no ahnelan beneficiarse del advenimiento. Ofrézcanle todo su ser, su vida entera; entonces, su adoración los transformará y transmutará tan rápida y completamente, que ustedes y Él podrán fundirse en Uno. Él pensará, sentirá y actuará como ustedes; ustedes pensarán, sentirán y actuarán como Él. Serán transformados, como una roca es transformada por el escultor en una estatua, merecedora de la adoración de generaciones de hombres fervorosos. En el proceso, tendrán que soportar muchos martillazos y muchas heridas de cincel, porque Él es el escultor; ¡simplemente los está liberando de la petrificación! Ofrezcan su corazón al Señor y dejen que el resto de ustedes sufra a Sus manos la transformación. No deshonren al
tiempo, ni a la envoltura física, ni a esta oportunidad de vida, utilizándolos para fines triviales. (Divino Discurso, 23 de noviembre de 1968)

 

It serves no purpose if you merely acknowledge that the Lord has come but do not yearn to benefit by the Advent. Offer your entire self, your entire life, to Him; then your adoration will transform and transmute you so fast and completely that you and He can be merged into One. He thinks, feels and acts as you do; you think, feel and act as He does. You will be transformed as a rock is transformed by the sculptor into an idol, deserving the worship of generations of sincere men. In the process you will have to bear many a hammer stroke, many a chisel-wound, for He is the sculptor. He is but releasing you from petrification! Offer your heart to the Lord, let the rest of you suffer transformation at His hands. Do not defile time, or the physical sheath, or this life’s chance, using them for paltry ends. Sin el control de los sentidos, sus prácticas espirituales (sadhana) serán inefectivas; ¡es como poner agua en una vasija que pierde! Cuando la lengua ansía alguna delicia, afirmen que no atenderán a sus caprichos. Si persisten en servirse comida sencilla, no salada ni picante, pero ampliamente nutritiva, puede que la lengua proteste durante unos días, pero pronto le dará la bienvenida. Esta es la manera de dominarla y superar las malas consecuencias de que se convierta en su ama. Ya que la lengua es igualmente insistente con los chismes y la charla lujuriosa, también deben refrenar esta tendencia. Hablen poco, hablen dulcemente y hablen solo cuando haya una necesidad imperiosa. Además, hablen solo a quienes deban hacerlo, y no griten ni levanten la voz con ira o agitación. Este control mejorará su salud y paz mental. Conducirá a mejores relaciones públicas y
menor enredo en contactos y conflictos con los demás. (Divino Discurso, 23 de noviembre de 1968)

 

Without the control of your senses, your spiritual practices (sadhana) will be ineffective; it is like keeping water in a leaky pot! When the tongue craves for some delicacy, assert that you will not cater to its whims. If you persist in giving yourself simple food that is not savoury or hot, but amply sustaining, the tongue may squirm for a few days, but it will soon welcome it. That is the way to subdue it and overcome the evil consequences of it being your master. Since the tongue is equally insistent on scandal and lascivious talk, you must curb that tendency also. Talk little, talk sweetly, and talk only when there is a pressing need. Also, talk only to those to whom you must, and do not shout or raise the voice in anger or excitement. Such control will improve health and mental peace. It will lead to better public relations and less involvement in contacts and conflicts with others. (Divine Discourse, Nov 23, 1968)
