Cuando el espejo de la mente está sucio, no puede percibir nada en su verdadero estado. Esta es la razón por la cual el hombre no logra reconocer su propia auténtica naturaleza. Por lo tanto, es necesario limpiar el espejo de sus impurezas. ¿Cómo debe ser hecho esto ? Mediante la regulación de la comida y de los hábitos recreacionales de uno. Es importante asegurarse que el alimento que se ingiere haya sido obtenido por medios lícitos. Muchas de las enfermedades que sufren las personas hoy se deben al hecho de que lo que consumen fue logrado de manera ilícita, de modo que para purificar la mente el primer pre-requisito es comida pura. Como no siempre es posible asegurar la pureza de cada alimento, en todo sentido y en cualquier momento, a fin de superar esta dificultad haz una ofrenda de tu comida a Dios y acéptala como un regalo de Él. Antes de ingerirla, cuando la comida
es ofrendada al Señor se convierte en «Prasada» (obsequio de Dios), y todas las impurezas de ese alimento son removidas en ese instante. Esto ayuda al proceso de la limpieza mental y es una práctica que debe ser sostenida de continuo. (Divino Discurso, 25 Mayo 1990).

 

When the mirror of the mind is soiled, it cannot perceive anything in its true state. This is the reason why man is unable to recognise his own true nature. Hence it is necessary to cleanse the mirror of impurities on it. How is this to be done? By regulating one’s food and recreational habits. It is important to ensure that the food that is eaten is obtained by righteous means. Many of the ills which people suffer today are due to the fact that the things they consume have been got by unrighteous means. So to purify your mind the first prerequisite is pure food. But it may not always be possible to ensure purity in every meal, in every respect and at all times. To overcome this difficulty, make an offering of your meal to God and accept it as a gift from God. Before eating, when food is offered to God, it becomes Prasada (gift from God). All impurities in the food are thereby removed. This helps the process of cleansing the mind. This
practice must be kept up continuously. (Divine Discourse, May 25, 1990)

¡Encarnaciones del Amor ! No hay nada malo en la Creación. Si algunas cosas parecen así, se debe por completo a una visión defectuosa. Los malos sentimientos que están latentes por dentro crean la impresión de que ciertas cosas son malas. Por tal razón es importante desarrollar sentimientos puros y amorosos. Estén siempre sumergidos en pensamientos de Dios y constantemente canten Su Nombre. Siéntanse siempre saturados de sentimientos divinos. Las prácticas espirituales efectuadas debidamente son una garantía para remover de vuestro interior toda contaminación. Nunca se involucren en malas acciones. Nunca critiquen, ni culpen ni acusen a otros. Los malos pensamientos contaminan la atmósfera y también infectan a otros, diseminando así malas vibraciones. Por lo tanto, eviten escrupulosamente las malas compañías y los comportamientos
inapropiados, los malos pensamientos, las incorrectas formas de vestir, los sentimientos y acciones erróneos. En vez de eso, sean siempre sagrados y hagan sólo el bien. Pongan el máximo empeño en venerar y reverenciar a los elementos de una manera adecuada, y en la respiración de cada uno debe resonar el cántico del Nombre de Dios. Siempre canten Su Gloria. (Divino Discurso, 15 Mayo 2000).

 

Embodiments of Love! There is nothing bad in Creation. If some things appear so, it is entirely due to faulty vision. The latent bad feelings within create the impression that certain things are bad. Hence it is important to develop pure and loving feelings. Always be immersed in the thought of God and constantly chant His Name. Be ever saturated with the divine feeling. If dutifully followed, spiritual practices are guaranteed to remove all the contamination within you. Never indulge in bad actions, never criticise others, blame others, or accuse others. Bad thoughts pollute the air and also infect others; this is how bad vibrations spread. Hence scrupulously avoid bad company and inappropriate behaviour. Always avoid bad thoughts, inappropriate looks, feelings and actions. Instead, be ever sacred and do only good. Make every possible effort to venerate and revere the elements in a suitable manner. Your every breath must resonate the chant of
God’s Name. Always sing His Glory. (Divine Discourse, May 15, 2000)

La suprema «Shakti» (Energía) se manifiesta en la forma de Durga, Lakshmi y Saraswati. Durga nos otorga energía física, mental y espiritual. Lakshmi nos confiere riquezas de muchas clases, no solamente dinero sino riqueza intelectual, de carácter, de salud, y demás. Ella nos otorga bienes inimaginables, mientras que Saraswati nos da inteligencia, capacidad para indagación intelectual y poder de discriminación. Tu propia madre es la combinación de todos estos seres Divinos. La vida de una persona que no puede respetar y amar a su propia venerable madre es totalmente inservible. Tu madre te provee de energía, bienestar e inteligencia, y constantemente desea nuestro progreso en la vida, por lo que representa a las tres diosas que adoramos durante la festividad de Navaratri. Reconoce a tu madre como la encarnación misma de todas las fuerzas divinas, demuéstrale reverencia y
trátala con cariño. Este es el verdadero mensaje de Navaratri (Divino Discurso, 14 Octubre 1988).

 

The supreme Shakti manifests herself in the form of Durga, Lakshmi and Saraswati. Durga grants us energy – physical, mental and spiritual. Lakshmi bestows on us wealth of many kinds, not just money but intellectual wealth, the wealth of character, the wealth of health and so on. She grants untold riches to us. And Saraswati bestows on us intelligence, the capacity for intellectual enquiry and the power of discrimination. Your own mother is the combination of all these Divine beings. The life of a person who cannot respect and love one’s own venerable mother is utterly useless. Your mother provides you with energy, wealth and intelligence. She constantly desires our advancement in life. So she represents all the three goddesses that we worship during the Navaratri festival. Recognising your mother as the very embodiment of all divine forces, show reverence to her and treat her with love. This is the true message of Navaratri.
