Krodha (ira) es un veneno mortal. Afecta a los demás por su humo, manifestado a través de los ojos, la lengua y las manos. La semilla de un árbol venenoso se convierte en una planta venenosa y cuando llegue a ser en un gran árbol, sus hojas, flores y frutos también serán venenosos. Así también, la persona adicta a la ira solo puede emitir veneno a través del pensamiento, la palabra y la acción. Un pensamiento iracundo es como un guijarro arrojado a las aguas tranquilas del Manasa-sarovar (Lago de la Mente) presente dentro del hombre. Crea un efecto circular que se extiende por todo el lago. La ira es muy perjudicial para el progreso de la juventud. Esfuércense por todos los medios para evitar que el veneno ingrese a su composición mental. Cultiven el amor, la bondad, el espíritu de servicio y fomenten todos los pensamientos de cooperación con los
demás. Vean la Divinidad en cada uno, de la misma forma en que deben verla en ustedes mismos. (Divine Discurso, 7 de diciembre de 1978).

 

Krodha (anger) is a deadly poison. It affects others by its fumes, manifested through the eye, the tongue and the hands. The seed of a poison tree sprouts into a poisonous plant and when it becomes a big tree, its leaves, flowers and fruits will also certainly be poisonous. So too, the person addicted to anger can only emanate poison, through thought, word and deed. An angry thought is like a pebble thrown into the calm waters of the Manasa-sarovar (Lake of the Mind) present inside man. It creates a circular effect which spreads through the entire lake. Anger is very injurious to the progress of youth. Strive by all means to prevent the poison entering your mental make-up. Cultivate love, kindliness, the spirit of service, and encourage all thoughts of cooperation with others. See the Divinity in each one, as you must see it in your own selves. (Divine Discourse, Dec 7, 1978).

El hombre es una mezcla de daiva, danava y manava (dios, demonio y hombre). La maldad de la naturaleza danava puede superarse con daya (la cualidad de la misericordia y la caridad), la solidaridad y el sentimiento de fraternidad; el orgullo del aspecto daiva puede ser superado por dama (autocontrol), el desapego y la renuncia; el egoísmo del aspecto manava puede superarse siguiendo el dharma prescrito por los sabios imparciales que han sido purificados por la penitencia, y por la canalización de sus instintos e impulsos en campos fructíferos. Cuando estos tres están así sublimados, manava (hombre) se transforma en Madhava (Dios). Cada uno debe emprender este proceso de purificación, descubriendo sus defectos y fallas, y realizar el camino hacia el éxito. Si tienes daya, dama y dharma (solidaridad, autocontrol y rectitud), eso te llevará más allá del reino de las tres cualidades de
la mente; no hay necesidad entonces de obtener un Nombre o mantra del Gurú y repetirlo. (Discurso divino, 24 de julio de 1964).

 

Man is a mixture of daiva, danava and manava (god, demon and man). The wickedness of the danava nature can be overcome by daya (the quality of mercy and charity), sympathy and the feeling of fellowship; the pride of the daiva aspect can be overcome by dama (self-control), detachment, and renunciation; the egoism of the manava aspect can be overcome by following dharma prescribed by the impartial sages who have been purified by penance, and by canalising their instincts and impulses into fruitful fields. When these three are thus sublimated, manava (man) is transformed into Madhava (God). Each one must take up this process of purification, by discovering his faults and failings and realise the road to success. If you have daya, dama and dharma (sympathy, self-control and righteousness), that will take you beyond the realm of the three qualities of the mind; there is no need then for getting a Name or mantra from the Guru and repeating it. (Divine

Una vez que te hayas aferrado a un Gurú, déjaselo todo a él, incluso el deseo de alcanzar la liberación. Él te conoce más que tú mismo. Él te dirigirá tanto como sea bueno para ti. Tu deber es solo obedecer y sofocar la tendencia a alejarte de Él. Entonces no hay necesidad de obtener un Nombre o un mantra del Gurú y repetirlo. El mandato del Gurú o del Señor es incluso más importante que el Nombre del Gurú o el Nombre del Señor. De qué sirve la repetición del Nombre, sin purificar al mismo tiempo los impulsos mediante la observancia de Sus mandamientos. Debes hacer el mejor uso del Gurú, así como debes hacerlo de este mismo Puttaparthi. Debes adquirir aquí las habilidades para ganar shanti y santosha (paz mental y bienaventuranza), la gracia de Dios, las lecciones de las prácticas espirituales y los
frutos del satsang (compañía de los santos); no desperdicies tu energía ni tu tiempo, buscando la satisfacción sensorial en una compañía impía. (Discurso divino, 24 de julio de 1964).

 

Once you have secured a Guru, leave everything to him, even the desire to achieve liberation. He knows you more than you yourself ever can. He will direct you as much as is good for you. Your duty is only to obey and to smother the tendency to drift away from Him. There is no need then for getting a Name or mantra from the Guru and repeating it. The command of the Guru or the Lord is even more important than the Name of the Guru or the Name of the Lord. Of what use is the repetition of the Name, without at the same time purifying the impulses by the observance of His commands. You must make the best use of the Guru, as you must of this Puttaparthi itself. You must acquire here the skills for winning shanti and santosha (peace of mind and bliss), the grace of God, the lessons of spiritual practices, and the fruits of satsang (company of the holy); do not fritter away your energy and time, seeking sensory satisfaction in ungodly company. (Divine
Discourse, Jul 24, 1964).
