La felicidad y la paz no se encuentran en la riqueza, posición o poder. Todas estas sólo generan temor y ansiedad, y no paz y felicidad. Hoy incluso las personas sumamente educadas no reconocen esta verdad, pero asumen una postura de devotos. Hiranyakashipu intentó todos los métodos posibles para apartar a su hijo Prahlada de su devoción a Dios. El niño fué sometido a todas las torturas y ordalías imaginables. Sin temor, haciendo caso omiso de su perverso padre, Prahlada se aferró firmemente al Señor y su devoción lo salvó. Prahlada declaró: «Sólo es un verdadero padre aquel que guía al niño a tomar conciencia de Dios». No hay nada extraordinario en ser padre. Ningún padre debería regocijarse cuando nace un niño. Solamente cuando la gente alabe las virtudes de su hijo podrá el padre alegrarse por el nacimiento de
su niño. Un chico justo redime a la familia y a uno mismo. En verdad, sólo son buenos progenitores aquellos que crían niños virtuosos. (Divino Discurso, 6 Mayo 1992).

 

Happiness and peace are not to be found in wealth, position or power. All these generate only fear and anxiety and not peace and happiness. Today even highly educated persons do not recognise this truth, but pose as devotees. Hiranyakashipu tried all possible methods to divert his son, Prahlada from being devoted to God. The child was subjected to every conceivable torture and ordeal. Unafraid, disregarding his perverse father, Prahlada held fast to the Lord, and his devotion to the Lord saved him. Prahlada declared, «He alone is a true father who leads the child to realise God.» There is nothing great about being a father. No father should rejoice when a child is born. Only when people praise the virtues of his child can the father rejoice over his child’s birth. A righteous child redeems oneself and the family. Verily, they alone are good parents who bring up virtuous children. (Divine Discourse, 6 May 1992)

¿Cuál es la máxima cualidad de un ser humano ? Es la de decir la verdad. Decir lo que no es cierto y hablar en forma irresponsable no es de provecho para un ser humano. Si te involucras en una charla indiscriminada e inútil, cómo se la puede calificar de verdad ? De hecho, la verdad debe danzar sobre tu lengua. Antes de pronunciar alguna palabra, debes preguntarte si es verdad o no. «La verdad es una, no dos». Si hay dualidad, no puede ser verdad. Tenemos que hablar sólo lo cierto, lo cual emerge de nuestro corazón. El mundo entero ha emergido de la verdad y todo se fusiona en la verdad. Las nubes que se mueven en el cielo oscurecen a veces el sol. No es posible quitar las nubes, ellas vienen y se van. Una vez que se marchan se hace totalmente visible el resplandeciente sol. De la misma manera, la verdad se manifiesta sólo cuando se despejan en nuestro corazón las oscuras nubes de la
confusión. (Divino Discurso, 29 de Septiembre 2006).

 

What is the foremost quality of a human being? It is speaking truth. To speak untruth and talk irresponsibly does not behove a human being. If you indulge in useless and indiscriminate talk, how can it be called truth? In fact, truth has to dance on your tongue. Before you speak something, you must enquire whether it is the truth or not. ‘Truth is one, not two.’ If there is duality, it cannot be truth. We have to speak only truth which emerges from our heart. The entire world has emerged from truth and everything merges into truth. The clouds moving in the sky sometimes obscure the Sun. It is not possible to remove the clouds. They just come and go. Once the clouds move away, the resplendent Sun is fully visible. Similarly, it is only when the dark clouds of confusions in our heart are cleared, truth manifests. (Divine Discourse Sep 29, 2006)

Puede que uno haya adquirido muchos conocimientos y se haya pasado la vida entera en la educación, pero ¿de qué le sirve esto, si sus malas cualidades no han sido abandonadas? Ustedes pueden invertir mucho tiempo y aprender muchas cosas, pero esto sólo los hará discutidores. Mediante una educación así, nunca podrán adquirir la sabiduría completa. Hoy, la vida entera de mucha gente está dedicada a la simple imitación de los demás. Muchos estudiantes están destruyendo sus propias ideas e individualidad, y se están haciendo adictos al proceso de imitar a otros. Divyatma Swarupas, si ustedes desean la seguridad y el bienestar de su país, es esencial que desarrollen tres cosas. Ellas son: el servicio al país, el sacrificio sin egoísmo, y la devoción a la espiritualidad. Hay una gran necesidad de entrenar a jóvenes que tengan

One may have acquired a lot of knowledge and spent one’s entire life in education but what is the use of this if one’s mean qualities have not been shed. You may spend a lot of time and learn many things but it will only make you argumentative. By education of such type, you can never acquire complete wisdom. Today the entire life of many people is dedicated to simply imitating others. Many students are destroying their own ideas and individuality and are getting addicted to the process of imitating others. Divyatma Swarupas, if you desire the security, safety and the wellbeing of your country, then it is essential for you to develop three things! They are: service to the country, sacrifice without being selfish, and devotion to spirituality. There is a great need to train young people who have a strong determination in this regard.

La base de todo el mundo es el amor (prema) del Señor. Incluso si uno es capaz de aprender de memoria la esencia de todas las escrituras (Vedas), y es capaz de componer poesía de una manera muy atractiva, sin embargo, si no tiene un corazón purificado, es una persona inútil. ¿Qué otra verdad más grande puedo comunicarles hoy? La educación de nuestros días no es verdadera educación. Parece ser que la educación actual no es más que un pasatiempo para que puedan ganarse la vida. Mientras siguen ese camino que les permite ganarse un medio de vida, también promueven el egoísmo individual. El objetivo de la verdadera educación debería ser el desarrollo del carácter. Ese tipo de educación en la que no existe lo sagrado y el carácter es inútil. ¿Cuál es el propósito de adquirir tantos tipos

The basis for the entire world is the love (prema) of the Lord. Even if one is able to learn by heart the essence of all the scriptures (Vedas), and is able to compose poetry in a very attractive manner, yet if that person does not have a purified heart, he is a useless person. What other greater truth can I communicate to you today? The present day’s education is not real education. It appears that the education of today is merely an avocation to enable you to make a living. While pursuing such a path which enables you to eke out a livelihood, you also promote individual selfishness. The aim of real education should be character development. That kind of education in which there is no sacredness and character is useless. What is the use of acquiring so many different types of education?
