(1) El silencio es el primer paso en el sadhana. Promueve el autocontrol; disminuye las probabilidades de padecer ira, odio, maldad, codicia u orgullo, y facilita los pasos siguientes. Por otra parte, Sus pisadas solo pueden oírse cuando en la mente reina el silencio. (2) Limpieza – Es el portal a la devoción. La limpieza interior y exterior es esencial para instalar a Dios en el corazón. (3) Servicio – Este los salva del dolor que sienten cuando otro sufre; amplía su visión, ensancha su percepción y profundiza su compasión. Todas las olas del mar se unifican en el mismo mar; el seva arraiga este conocimiento. (4) Amor puro – Nunca calculen la reacción, el resultado ni la recompensa. El amor llama; el amor responde. El amor es Dios; vivan en el amor. (5) Ausencia de odio – Ningún ser debe ser menospreciado como secundario, inferior o desechable. Cada uno tiene su papel asignado en la obra
teatral creada por el Todopoderoso. Nunca insulten ni hieran a ningún ser, porque Dios vive en cada ser, y la ofensa de ustedes se convierte en un sacrilegio. (Divino Discurso, 19 de julio de 1970)

 

(1) Silence is the first step in sadhana. It promotes self-control; lessens chances of anger, hate, malice, greed, pride and makes other steps easy. Besides, you can hear His footsteps, only when silence reigns in your mind. (2) Cleanliness: It’s the doorway to Godliness. Inner and outer cleanliness are essential to install God in your heart. (3) Service: It saves you from the agony you get when another suffers; broadens your vision, widens your awareness, and deepens your compassion. All waves are on the same sea and merge in the same sea. Seva anchors this knowledge. (4) Pure Love: Never calculate the reaction, result or reward. Love calls; love responds. Love is God, live in Love. (5) Hatelessness: No being must be looked down upon as secondary, inferior, unimportant, or expendable. Each has its allotted role in the drama designed by the Almighty. Never insult or injure any being; for, God lives in every being and your slight becomes a

Guru Poornima es sagrado por muchas razones. El buscador padeciendo la ilusión de que el mundo objetivo es tan real como él mismo, es conducido a la Verdad. En este día, aquellos que nunca sintieron el impulso de explorar la Realidad, son inspirados a buscar la fuente de dicha dentro de sí mismos. En este día, los peregrinos a los Pies de Loto de Dios estudian los libros con indicaciones para la vida. En este día, los discípulos ofrendan gratitud a los pies del preceptor, porque les ha obsequiado la luz. Cuando sale el sol, el mundo es bendecido con calor y luz. Cuando el Gurú bendice, el alumno obtiene paz y alegría. Recuerden: Guru Poornima no es una fecha marcada en el calendario, que acaba cuando el día ha pasado. Sepan que toda vez que su mente, presidida por la deidad de la Luna, está llena (poorna), recibe del Gurú los refrescantes rayos de la gracia.
Enseñen a su mente que obtenga iluminación del intelecto, no de las engañosas fuerzas de los sentidos. (Divino Discurso, 18 de julio de 1970)

 

Guru Poornima is sacred for many reasons: the seeker who suffers from the delusion that the objective world is as real as themselves are guided into Truth. This day, those who never felt the urge to explore the Reality are inspired to seek the spring of bliss inside them. This day, pilgrims to the Lotus Feet of God, study the guide books of life. This day, disciples offer gratitude at the feet of the preceptor for the gift of light. When the Sun rises, the world is blessed with heat and light. When the Guru blesses, the pupil gets peace and joy! Remember, Guru Poornima is not a date marked in the calendar that is finished when the day is over! Know that whenever your mind, with the presiding deity of Moon, is full (Poorna), it receives Guru’s cool refreshing rays of grace! Train your mind to derive illumination from the intellect, and not from the deluding forces of the senses. (Divine Discourse, Jul 18, 1970)

Sean simples y sinceros. Es un absoluto desperdicio de dinero recargar las imágenes y estatuas en los santuarios y altares de sus hogares con el peso de las guirnaldas, y exhibir costosos utensilios, vasijas y ofrendas, para vanagloriarse de su devoción. Esto es un engaño; desmerece a la Divinidad, al imputarle el deseo de pompa y publicidad. Para derramar gracia, Yo solo pido pureza de corazón. No calculen la distancia entre ustedes y Yo. No interpongan las formalidades de la relación Guru-Sishya (preceptor y discípulo) entre ustedes y Yo; ni siquiera las diferencias de altura en la relación Dios-devoto. Yo soy ustedes; ustedes son Yo: esta es la verdad. No hay diferencia; lo que aparenta ser tal es la ilusión. Ustedes son las olas, Yo soy el mar. ¡Sepan esto, sean libres, y lleven una vida divina!

 

Be simple and sincere. It is sheer waste of money to burden the pictures and idols in the shrines and altars of your homes with a weight of garlands, and to parade costly utensils, vessels and offerings, to show off your devotion. This is deception; it demeans Divinity, imputing to it the desire for pomp and publicity. To shower grace, I ask only for purity of heart. Do not calculate distance between you and Me; do not interpose the formalities of the Guru-Sishya (preceptor-disciple) relationship, or even the altitudinal distinctions of the God-Devotee relationship, between you and Me. I am neither Guru nor God; I am You; You are I – this is the Truth. There is no distinction. That which appears so is the delusion. You are waves; I am the ocean. Know this and be free, and lead a divine life! (Divine Discourse, Jul 19, 1970)

El mantra Gayatri es el camino real a la Divinidad. Para recitarlo no hay horario fijo ni reglamentos. Sin embargo, los jóvenes Brahmacharis (célibes) harán bien en recitarlo durante el sandhya de la mañana y de la tarde (las horas del crepúsculo, al amanecer y atardecer), para obtener el máximo beneficio. De todos modos, ya que la Divinidad está más allá del tiempo y el espacio, cualquier momento y lugar son apropiados para repetir el nombre de Dios. El Bhagavata proclama: Sarvada, sarvatra, sarvakaleshu Hari chintanam, es decir, «contemplen siempre en Dios, en todo lugar y en todo momento». Deben darse cuenta de que están actuando roles temporarios en el escenario cósmico. Deberán regresar a su Yo Mismo divino cuando la obra teatral haya concluido. The Gayatri mantra is the royal road to Divinity. There is no fixed time or regulation for reciting it. Nevertheless, the young Brahmacharis (celibates) would do well to recite it during the morning and evening sandhya (twilight hours of dawn and dusk) to derive the greatest benefit. However because the Divine is beyond time and space, any time and any place is appropriate for repeating God’s name. The Bhagavata declares: Sarvada, sarvatra, sarvakaleshu Hari chintanam – Contemplate on God always, at all places and at all times. You must learn to think of God in whatever you see, whatever you do and whatever you touch. You must realise that you are playing temporary roles on the cosmic stage. You must get back to your true Divine Selves when the play is over. By regularly reciting the Gayatri, you must purify your lives and be an example to the world in righteous living. This is My benediction for you. (Divine Discourse, Mar 17, 1983)
