Un hogar debe estar lleno de amor, con el sacrificio que el amor implica, la alegría que el amor irradia y la paz que el amor imparte. Cualquier estructura de ladrillo y cemento donde pasan sus vidas los padres y los niños, no puede ser un hogar si los niños no lo anhelan, y si los padres no encuentran paz allí. El hogar es el templo donde la familia, cada miembro de la cual es un templo en movimiento, se alimenta y nutre. La madre es el sumo sacerdote de esta Casa de Dios. La humildad es el incienso con el que se llena la casa. La reverencia es la lámpara que está encendida, con el amor como el aceite y la fe como la mecha. Pasen los años de sus vidas dedicándolos a esa adoración en los hogares en los que viven. Los bendigo para que a través de su fe y fortaleza, su devoción y dedicación aumenten. A home must be filled with love, with the sacrifice that love involves, the joy that love radiates, and the peace that love imparts. Any brick and mortar structure where parents and children spend their lives cannot be a home if children do not yearn for it, and if parents do not find peace therein. The home is the temple where the family, each member of which is a moving temple, is nurtured and nourished. The mother is the high priest of this House of God. Humility is the incense with which the house is filled. Reverence is the lamp that is lit, with love as the oil and faith as the wick. Spend the years of your lives dedicating them for such worship in the homes that you live in. I bless you that through your faith and strength, your devotion and dedication may increase. Hoy en día, el accesorio común en todos los bolsos de las damas y en los bolsillos de los caballeros es un espejo y un peine. Temen que su encanto esté en peligro cuando su cabello está levemente desordenado, o cuando su cara revela parches de polvo; entonces, intentan corregir la impresión de inmediato. Ya que están tan preocupados por este encanto personal que se deteriora rápidamente, ¿cuánto más preocupados deberían estar por el polvo de la envidia y el odio, y los parches de presunción y malicia que profanan sus mentes y sus corazones? ¡Tengan también un espejo y un peine para este propósito! Tengan el espejo de Bhakti (devoción) para juzgar si están limpios y brillantes. El peine de Jnana o sabiduría, obtenido por medio del discernimiento, alisa los problemas, desenreda los nudos y les permite controlar y canalizar sus

Nowadays, the common accessory in every ladies’ bag and in gents’ pockets is a mirror and a comb. You dread that your charm is endangered when your hair is in slight disarray, or when your face reveals patches of powder; so, you try to correct the impression immediately. While so concerned about this fast-deteriorating personal charm, how much more concerned should you really be about the dust of envy and hate, and the patches of conceit and malice that desecrate your mind and hearts? Have a mirror and a comb for this purpose too! Have the mirror of Bhakti (devotion) to judge whether they are clean and bright. The comb of Jnana or wisdom, earned by discrimination straightens problems, resolves knots and enables you to control and channelise your feelings and emotions that are scattered wildly in all directions. Whatever you do, wherever you are, remember that I am with you and in you. This will save you from conceit and error. [Divine

El nacimiento humano es el más noble de todos, el producto final de edades indescriptibles de su propia evolución progresiva. Pregúntense: ¿están esforzándose conscientemente por vivir a la altura de este precioso regalo que han ganado? A partir de ahora, conviertan cada día de vida en una ofrenda continua de Amor, como una lámpara de aceite que se agota para iluminar el entorno. Usen la insignia invisible de los voluntarios de Dios a todas horas y en todo sitio. Inclinen el cuerpo, reparen los sentidos y paren la mente: ese es el proceso para alcanzar el estado de «hijos de la inmortalidad» que los Upanishads les han reservado. Dios es la encarnación de la dulzura. Alcáncenlo ofreciéndole la dulzura con la que Él los ha dotado. Human birth is the noblest of all, the final product of untold ages of your own progressive evolution. Ask yourself this: Are you consciously striving to live up to this precious gift you’ve won? From now on, make every living day a continuous offering of Love, like an oil lamp that exhausts itself in illumining the surroundings. Wear the invisible badge of a volunteer of God at all hours and in all places. Bend the body, mend the senses, and end the mind – that is the process of attaining the status of ‘the children of immortality,’ which the Upanishads have reserved for you. God is the embodiment of sweetness. Attain Him by offering Him the sweetness that He has endowed you with. Crush the cane in the mill of service, boil it in the cauldron of penitence, decolorise it of all sensual itch, and offer the crystallised sugar of compassionate Love to Him. El espíritu de sacrificio es el prerrequisito básico para cada sevak (servidor). Sin la inspiración del sentido del sacrificio, tu seva será hipocresía, un ritual hueco. ¡Usas la bufanda sevadal sobre tu ropa, ¡solo para quitártela pronto! Cuando te quitas la bufanda, te sientes aliviado de que te hayan liberado de la obligación de amar y servir. Al hacerlo, solo estás desempeñando un papel temporal en un drama, poniéndote una bufanda y quitándotela. Internaliza el espíritu de sacrificio en tu corazón, en forma profunda y clara. Dios es Amor y solo se lo puede ganar a través del cultivo y ejercicio del Amor. No se lo puede atrapar con ningún truco; Él otorga gracia solo cuando se siguen Sus mandamientos, el mandamiento de amar a todos y servir a todos. Cuando haces esto, te estás sirviendo más a ti mismo: ¡a

The spirit of sacrifice is the basic prerequisite for every sevak (servitor). Without the inspiration of the sense of sacrifice, your seva will be hypocrisy, a hollow ritual. You wear the sevadal scarf over your apparel, only to remove it soon! When you remove the scarf, you feel relieved that you have been released from the obligation to love and serve. In doing so, you are only playing a temporary role in a drama, donning a scarf and doffing it. Internalise the spirit of sacrifice in your heart, deep and clear. God is Love and can be won only through the cultivation and exercise of Love. He cannot be trapped by any trick; He bestows grace only when His commands are followed – the command to love all and serve all. When you do this, you are serving yourself most – yourself whom you love most! For God’s Grace envelops you then, and you are strengthened beyond all previous experience.
