OM SRI SAI RAM

Dado que Islam significa entregarse a Dios, todo aquel que viva en paz y armonía en la sociedad, con espíritu de entrega y dedicación, en realidad pertenece al Islam. El Islam insiste en la completa coordinación entre pensamiento, palabra y acción. Los santos y sabios musulmanes siempre han enfatizado que debemos indagar en la validez del «yo» que cree ser el cuerpo y el «yo» que cree ser la mente, para llegar a la conclusión de que el verdadero «yo» es el Uno Mismo que ansía al Uno Mismo Total, es decir Dios. El ayuno y las plegarias durante el mes del Ramadán están especialmente diseñados para despertar y manifestar esta toma de conciencia. Consideren cualquier religión, la que sea; hallarán que enfatiza la unidad, la armonía y la ecuanimidad. Por eso, todos ustedes deben cultivar el amor, la tolerancia y la
compasión, y demostrar estos principios universales en todas sus actividades cotidianas, todos los días. Este es el mensaje que hoy les entrego, con mis bendiciones. (Divino Discurso, 12 de julio de 1983)

 

Since Islam means surrender to God, whoever lives in peace and harmony in society, in a spirit of surrender and dedication, really speaking, belongs to Islam. Islam insists on full coordination between thought, word and deed. Muslim holy men and sages have been emphasising that we must inquire into the validity of the ‘I’ which feels it is the body and the ‘I’ which feels it is the mind and reach the conclusion that the real ‘I’ is the Self yearning for the Omniself, God. Fasting and prayers during the month of Ramzan are specially designed to awaken and manifest this realisation. Consider any religion, whatever it may be, you will find that it emphasises on unity, harmony and equal-mindedness. Therefore, all of you must cultivate love, tolerance and compassion and demonstrate these universal principles in all your daily activities, every day. El Señor nunca dice una palabra que carezca de relevancia o significado. Nunca hace algo inapropiado ni fútil. El pequeño Dhruva fue a la selva para hacer austeridades y así obtener el don del Señor, de que su padre lo tratara tan amorosamente como a su medio hermano. Pero, ¿qué ocurrió? A medida que progresaba en su práctica espiritual, ese deseo fue olvidado, y otros más elevados ocuparon su lugar. Cuando el Señor ingresa en la mente de ustedes, se deshace de cualquier mal que haya en ella. Dios (Rama) y el deseo (kama) nunca pueden coexistir. Dios y la lujuria nunca van juntos. Por lo tanto, ¿cómo podrían las Gopis haber tenido conciencia del cuerpo cuando adoraban al niño Krishna? Cuando uno se acerca al Señor, incluso los deseos mundanos son transmutados a esferas superiores de pureza. Sepan que nada contrario al dharma puede subsistir
en presencia del Señor. (Divino Discurso, 6 de septiembre de 1963)

 

The Lord never speaks a word without relevance or significance, He never does anything without appropriateness or purpose. The young little boy, Dhruva, went to the forest to do penance and get a boon from the Lord, so that his father might treat him as lovingly as he did his half-brother. But see what happened? As he progressed in his spiritual practice, that wish was forgotten, and more lofty ones came to occupy its place. Once the Lord enters your mind, He will get rid of all evil in it. God (Rama) and desire (kama) can never coexist. God and lust will never go together. How then could the Gopis have any body consciousness when they adored young, little lad Krishna? Even mundane desires will be transmuted into higher spheres of purity when one approaches the Lord. Know that nothing against dharma can stand the presence of the Lord. Puede que el agua del río esté sucia, pero el devoto que la bebe teniendo en sus labios un matra o un himno de alabanza a Dios, la transmuta en agua santificada. El cuerpo se hace saludable mediante el ejercicio y el trabajo; la mente se hace saludable mediante la devota contemplación y la rememoración del nombre divino (namasmarana), y mediante la disciplina regular y bien planificada, alegremente aceptada y puesta en práctica. La no violencia es el arroz, la dedicación es el gram (harina de garbanzos), la expiación son las pasas de uva, y el arrepentimiento es el jaggery (azúcar de caña sin refinar). Mezclen bien todo esto con el ghee (manteca clarificada) de la virtud. Esta es la ofrenda que deben hacer a su deidad elegida, no las chucherías que hacen con artículos obtenidos por monedas en las tiendas. Las Gopis conocían este pasadizo secreto hacia el corazón
del Señor; por eso tomaron conciencia de Él con rapidez. (Divino Discurso, 6 de septiembre de 1963)

 

The waters of the river might be dirty, but the devotee who sips it with a mantra or a hymn in praise of God on his lips transmutes it into sanctified water. The body becomes healthy by exercise and work; the mind becomes healthy by devout contemplation and remembrance of the divine name (namasmarana), and by regular, well-planned discipline, joyfully accepted and carried out. Nonviolence is the rice, dedication is the gram (chickpea flour), expiation are the raisins, and repentance is the jaggery (unrefined cane sugar). Mix all these well with the ghee (clarified butter) of virtue. That is the offering you should make to your chosen deity, not the paltry stuff you make out of articles obtained for a paisa in the shops! The Gopis knew this secret passage to the heart of the Lord, that is why they realised Him quickly and fast. (Divine Discourse, Sep 06, 1963)

He oído susurros y voces destempladas que dicen: «Si Sathya Sai Baba es realmente divino, ¿por qué el estanque de Bukkpatnam está seco la mayor parte del año?» Tal vez algunos de ustedes hayan oído tales declaraciones, hechas por personas irresponsables que no tienen conocimiento alguno del funcionamiento de las Leyes Cósmicas. ¡Realmente, es una idea absurda! ¿Por qué debería Yo dedicar mi Gracia especialmente a ese estanque? ¿Acaso la cercanía implica mayor apego? ¡No! El universo entero es mío. Todos los lugares son para Mï igualmente cercanos, y si abandonan el buen camino, son todos igualmente lejanos. La cercanía a Dios no se mide en kilómetros. A menos que la gente de esta aldea haya depositado ciertas sumas en el banco, ¿cómo podría el banco abonar los cheques que ellos emitan? Pregúntense
sinceramente: ¿han depositado ustedes devoción al Señor, servicio al prójimo y fe en sus propias prácticas espirituales? Solo así podrían hacer una extracción de la Gracia, que solo se gana mediante esos esfuerzos. (Divino Discurso, 13 de marzo de 1964)

 

I have heard discordant voices and whispers that if Sathya Sai Baba is really Divine, why is the Bukkapatnam water storage dry during the greater part of the year? Some of you here might have heard such statements, made by irresponsible persons who have no knowledge of the working of Cosmic Laws. It is really an absurd idea! Why should I expend My grace especially on this tank? Does proximity grant greater attachment? No! The entire Universe is Mine. All places are equally near for Me and, if they turn away from good ways, all are equally far! Nearness to God can never be measured by miles. Unless the people of this village have deposited amounts in the bank, how can the bank honour the cheques they draw? Ask yourself earnestly: Have you deposited devotion to the Lord, service to your kind, and faith in your spiritual practice? Then alone can you draw upon the Grace which is won only by such efforts!
