El contento (Samtushti) llena el corazón con deleite divino. Indica una etapa de desapego del mundo, porque el mundo hace que uno pase del dolor al placer y viceversa. Desistan de intentar obtener alegría o de evitar el dolor y permanezcan imperturbables ante los altibajos. El éxito no debe incrementar su ego, ni el fracaso sumirlos en el abatimiento. Los honores no deben hacerles perder la cabeza, ni el deshonor hacerlos caer en la aflicción. La ecuanimidad y la serenidad son las señales de Samtushti. El devoto debe dar la bienvenida con gratitud a lo que le suceda, según ha sido dispuesto por la Divina Voluntad a la que se ha rendido. Los devotos deben estar libres de ansiedad y miedo, orgullo y envidia. Los cuatro enemigos que intentan arruinarlos son la ira, la envidia, el odio y la horda de deseos. Consideren tanto lo alto como lo bajo como roles en el juego Divino. La prescripción moral
básica para cada devoto que aspira a estar cerca y ser querido, es adorar a Dios y ofrecerle amor en cada ser viviente. Discurso Divino del 2 de agosto de 1986.

 

Samtushti (contentment) fills the heart with divine delight. It marks a stage of detachment from the world, for the world makes one swing from pain to pleasure and back again. Desist from attempts to earn joy or avoid grief and be unconcerned with ups and downs. Success should not boost your ego, nor should defeat land you in dejection. Honours should not turn your head, nor dishonour make it droop. Equanimity and serenity are the signs of Samtushti. The devotee must welcome gratefully whatever happens as ordained by the Divine Will to which one has surrendered. Devotees must be free from anxiety and fear, pride and envy. Four enemies intent on ruining you are anger, envy, hatred and horde of desires. Regard both high and low as roles in the Divine play. The basic moral prescription for every devotee who aspires to be near and dear is to worship God and offer Love to Him in every living being. (Divine Discourse, Aug 02, 1986)

Transformen su corazón haciéndolo puro y sagrado. La pureza es la verdadera característica de un ser humano. Esta pureza debe manifestarse en todo lo que hacen: en sus pensamientos, en lo que ven o dicen, y en todo lo que hagan. Solo cuando despliegan tal pureza, se vuelven encarnaciones del Ser Divino (Atma). Entonces la distinción entre lo divino y lo mundano desaparece. Todo es divinizado. La diferencia entre el objeto y el sujeto también desaparece. Todo, entonces, se vuelve el todo (poornam). La realización de esa totalidad es el verdadero Guru Poornima, no la ofrenda de “pada puja” (homenaje ritual a los pies del Guru) y la obtención de un mantra por parte del Guru. ¡Resuelvan hoy mismo, llevar una vida ejemplar, dirigir sus pensamientos hacia Dios, esforzarse por purificar su corazón y buscar la autorrealización en este mismo nacimiento! Transform your heart by making it pure and sacred. Purity is the true characteristic of a human being. This purity should be manifested in everything you do: in your thoughts, in what you see or say, and in all that you do. It is only when you display such purity that you can become embodiments of the Divine Self (Atma). Then the distinction between the Divine and the mundane disappears. Everything is Divinised. The difference between the object and the subject will also go. Everything then becomes the whole (poornam). The realisation of that wholeness is the real Guru Poornima, not the offer of pada puja (ritual homage to the feet of Guru) and obtaining a mantra from the Guru. Resolve today to lead an exemplary life, to turn your thoughts to God, to strive for the purification of your heart and to seek Self-realisation in this very birth! (Divine Discourse, Jul 13, 1984)

¿Cómo puede uno volverse ‘querido’ para Dios? El Gita enfatiza dos requisitos: “Samtushtah Satatam” (estar siempre contento) y “Dhruda nischayah” (tener una resolución firme). Todos poseen la cualidad de “Dhruda nischayah”, ya que es un bien que asegura la supervivencia y permite conseguir popularidad y preeminencia. Aquellos que escalan los picos del Himalaya obtienen ese coraje tenaz, de la firmeza de su resolución de no dar marcha atrás. Otros exhiben heroísmo al cruzar tumultuosos océanos solos. Algunos otros deciden explorar junglas temibles. ¡Se utiliza firmeza de resolución, valentía y destreza, hasta para torturar despiadadamente a otros con el fin de robarles sus riquezas! Ignorando su divinidad interna y dejando a un lado su humanidad, algunos descienden a niveles demoníacos. Valmiki, cuando era Ratnakara, usó su coraje y su
intrepidez de manera perversa. El contacto con los Siete Sabios y sus enseñanzas, le hizo dirigir las mismas cualidades hacia Rama. Él fue transformado tan completamente que llegó a ser el autor del Ramayana. Debemos concluir que “Dhruda nischayah” puede servir tanto para buenos propósitos como para el mal. How can one become ‘dear’ to God? The Gita emphasises two qualifications: Samtushtah Satatam (ever contented) and Dhruda nischayah (firm resolve). All possess this qualification of Dhruda nischayah; it is an asset that assures survival, and secures popularity and pre-eminence. Those who climb Himalayan peaks derive the tenacious courage from the firmness of their resolve not to turn back. Someone else exhibits heroism in crossing tumultuous oceans alone. Some others resolve on exploring fearful forests. Firmness of resolution, bravery and skill are utilised even for merciless torture of others to rob them of their riches. Ignoring their inner divinity and setting aside humanness, some descend to demonic levels. Valmiki, when he was Ratnakara, used his courage and adventurousness in wicked ways. Contact with the Seven Sages and their teachings made him direct the same qualities towards Rama. He was transformed so completely that he became the author of
the Ramayana. We have to conclude that dhruda nischayah can serve good purposes as well as evil. (Divine Discourse, Aug 02, 1986)

Cada religión enfatiza un nombre y una forma y recomienda su aceptación. Algunos incluso insisten en que Dios no tiene nombre ni forma. Pero en realidad, Dios es Akshara (indestructible, eterno), más allá de todos los nombres y formas. ¡Dios es! Ustedes alcanzan la etapa de Akshara, la etapa de la unidad sin atributos, en tres pasos del Sadhana: (i) Yo soy Tuyo, (ii) Tú eres mío y (iii) Tú eres yo mismo. A través del Sadhana, deben trascender la dualidad de: «Yo» y «Tú».»Yo» es solo el reflejo de «Tú», en este cuerpo. La consumación se alcanza cuando la dualidad es superada. Mantengan su corazón fresco, puro y brillante, como la luz de la luna. Su mente tiene que ser purificada solo por la mente. Así como le dan forma a una hoz o hacha de hierro con un martillo de hierro, la mente es tanto la que moldea como la que es moldeada, ambas. El poder que ayuda a
la mente a moldear bien, es la fe en Dios. Cultiven esa fe y todo lo demás les será añadido. Discurso Divino del 29 de julio de 1969.

 

Each religion emphasises one name and form and recommends its acceptance. Some even insist that God has no name or form. But in reality God is Akshara (indestructible, eternal) beyond all names and forms. God is! You reach the Akshara stage – the stage of attributeless unity in three steps of Sadhana: (i) I am Thine (ii) Thou art mine, and (iii) Thou art myself. Through Sadhana, you must transcend the duality of ‘I’ and ‘You’. ‘I’ is only the reflection of ‘You’ in this body. The consummation is reached when duality is superseded. Keep your heart cool, pure and bright – as the moonlight. Your mind must be cleansed by the mind only. Just as you shape an iron sickle or axe with an iron hammer, the mind is the shaper and shaped, both. The power which helps the mind to shape well, is faith in God. Cultivate that faith and everything else will be added unto you. (Divine Discourse, Jul 29, 1969)
