Las mentes de las personas están demasiado engañadas por el mundo; el estómago demanda en demasía su tiempo y energía. Sus deseos y apetencias se multiplican más allá de la capacidad de satisfacerlas, sus sueños están muy alejados de la propia realidad y los conducen a victorias falsas y aventuras absurdas. Absorta en el análisis del mundo material, la gente ha perdido todo sentido del espíritu, la dulzura y la grandeza. Bajo esta nueva prerrogativa, la verdad se ha convertido en una palabra más del diccionario. La compasión está reducida a una parodia insignificante. La humildad, la paciencia y la reverencia son tan inválidas como una lámpara sin luz en la lejanía. El único sostén que tenemos en esta horrible oscuridad es el nombre de Dios. People’s minds are too full of the world; the stomach is demanding too much of their time and energy. Their desires and wants are multiplying too fast for their capacity to satisfy them, their dreams are far too real for them; they lead one into false victories and absurd adventures. Engrossed in the analysis of the material world, people have lost all sense of spirit, sweetness and sublimity; under this new dispensation, truth has become just a word in the dictionary. Compassion is reduced to a meaningless travesty. Humility, patience, reverence – these are as invalid as a flameless lamp in the far distance. The only hold that one has in this dreadful darkness is the name of God. That is the raft which will take one across this stormy sea, darkened by hate and fear, and churned by anxiety and terror! La abeja revolotea alrededor del loto, se posa y bebe el néctar; mientras bebe la embriagadora dulzura, está silenciosa, inalterable, concentrada y descuidando todo lo demás. El hombre también se pone sí cuando está en presencia de Dios. El zumbido de la abeja cesa y se silencia cuando comienza a beber el néctar. EL hombre también canta, alaba, argumenta, afirma, solo hasta que descubre el rasa (la dulce esencia). Ese rasa es prema-rasa (la dulce esencia del amor). Donde hay amor, no puede haber temor, ansiedad, duda ni ashanti (ausencia de paz). Cuando están afligidos por ashanti seguramente el amor está restringido, ese amor tiene algo de ego mezclado. Los sentidos son nuestros enemigos mortales, ya que alejan la atención, de la fuente interna del gozo, hacia objetos fuera de ustedes. Cuando ustedes estén convencidos de que ellos están en el fondo de esta
conspiración para desviarlos, seguramente dejarán de servirlos. Bhagavan Sri Sathya Sai Baba. (Divino Discurso del 26 de febrero de 1968).

 

The bee hovers around the lotus, sits upon it, and drinks the nectar; while drinking sweet intoxicating honey, it is silent, steadfast, concentrated, and forgetful of all else. Man too becomes like that when he is in the presence of God. The hum of the bee ceases and is silent when drinking of the nectar begins. Man too, sings, extols, argues, asserts, only until he discovers the rasa (sweet essence). That rasa is prema-rasa (sweet essence of love). Where there is love, there can be no fear, no anxiety, no doubt, and no ashanti (absence of peace). When you are afflicted with ashanti you can be sure that your love is restricted, your love has some ego mixed in it. The senses are one’s deadly foes; for they drag your attention away from the source of joy inside you, to objects outside you. When you are convinced that they are at the bottom of this conspiracy to mislead you, you will certainly stop catering to them. (Divine Discourse, Feb 26, 1968)

La vida es como un viaje en tren. Los niños tienen un largo viaje por delante, pero los mayores deben bajarse del tren bastante pronto. Deben aprender a hacer que su viaje sea cómodo y feliz. No lleven un pesado equipaje no deseado. Eso hará el viaje lamentable. Ira, odio, envidia, celos, etc., son el pesado equipaje que les dije evitaran llevar consigo en este viaje. No se complazcan buscando faltas y provocando peleas con los demás. No deseen tener las mejores cosas solo para ustedes. Compartan lo bueno que reciban con quienes estén cerca. Debo darles un consejo a los mayores y a los padres de los cuales hay muchos aquí. No den malos ejemplos para que sus hijos los imiten. Si son veraces, justos, mantienen la calma aun cuando los provocan y están llenos de amor en todas sus relaciones con los demás, los hijos también crecerán en satya (verdad), dharma (rectitud), shanti (paz), y

Life is like a train journey. Young children have a long way to go; but elders have to alight from the train pretty soon. You must learn to make your journey comfortable and happy. Do not carry heavy unwanted luggage with you. That will make your journey miserable. Anger, hatred, envy, jealousy, etc. are the heavy luggage I asked you to avoid taking with you on this journey. Do not indulge in fault-finding and in picking quarrels with others. Don’t desire to have the best things for yourselves only. Share with others around you the good things you are given. I must give some advice to the elders and the parents who are here in large numbers. Do not set bad examples for these children to follow. If you are truthful, just, maintain calmness even when provoked and full of love in all your dealings with others, children too will grow up in satya (truth), dharma (righteousness), shanti (peace) and prema (love).
