Cuando dedicamos tanto tiempo y esfuerzo para comprender el contenido de nuestras escrituras, ¿no deberíamos usar todo ese conocimiento para comprender y experimentar la Divinidad en nosotros? El meramente leer y luego enseñar a otros sin ponerlo en práctica en su vida, es una ocupación inútil; y además: ¡están desperdiciando su tiempo y su vida! Lo que realmente necesitan es la gracia de Dios. En la actualidad, hay demasiada confusión. Para superar esto, deben manejar su mente con firmeza para, lentamente, irla controlando.Nunca tengan prisa ni usen la fuerza para controlar la mente. Si tenemos una vaca en la casa que quiere salir y comer la cosecha en el campo, ¿cómo la controlamos y la traemos de regreso? Intentamos descubrir cuál es el tipo de comida que está buscando y la alimentamos con algo aún mejor en casa. Gradualmente, irá
abandonando la tendencia a salir del recinto. ¡Domestiquen su mente de igual manera! (Lluvias de Verano 1973, tomo 2, cap.27)

 

When we spend so much time and effort to understand the contents of our scriptures, should we not use all that knowledge to understand and experience the Divinity in us? To merely read and then teach others without putting them into practice in your life is an useless occupation – you are wasting your time and life as well! What you really need is the grace of God. In the present times, there is too much confusion. To overcome this, handle your mind very steadily and slowly, and bring it under your control. Never be in a hurry and use force to control the mind. If a cow in our home wants to go out and eat the harvest in the field, how is it tamed and brought back? We try to find out the kind of food that it is after and feed it with something even better at home. Gradually, it gives up the tendency to go out of the house. Tame your mind similarly! Mensaje de la Pizarra de Prashanti Nilayam

Nuestro viaje es de lo individual a lo universal, de “Swa” (mío) hacia “So- ham” (unidad con Dios), del “yo” al “nosotros”.El sol refulgente solo se puede ver con su propia luz. De igual manera, solo por medio de la gracia divina uno puede obtener una visión de la Divinidad. No se requiere habilidad, esfuerzo intelectual o erudición para experimentar a la Divinidad. Así como las nubes pueden oscurecer al sol, las nubes del egoísmo, del apego y del odio impiden que uno vea a la Divinidad. La oración y el sadhana son los medios para dispersar estas nubes. El sadhana (disciplina espiritual) es el camino real para alcanzar lo Divino. La naturaleza humana es una mezcla de rasgos buenos y malos. Aquel en quien predominan los rasgos buenos, tiende a ver solo lo bueno en los demás. Aquellos que son ecuánimes, ven imparcialmente tanto las buenas como las
malas cualidades. Por lo tanto, es necesario cultivar buenas cualidades. Discurso Divino del 11 de febrero de 1983.

 

Our journey is from the individual to the Universal, from ‘Swa’ (mine) to ‘So-ham’ (oneness with God), from ‘I’ to ‘we’. The effulgent Sun can be seen only with its own light. Similarly only by the grace of the Divine can one obtain a vision of the Divine. No skill, intellectual effort or scholarship is required to experience the Divine. Just as clouds may obscure the Sun, the clouds of egoism, attachment and hatred prevent one from seeing the Divine. Prayer and sadhana are the means by which these clouds are dispersed. Sadhana (spiritual discipline) is the royal road to reach the Divine. The human make-up is a mixture of good and bad traits. One in whom the good traits predominate, tends to see only the good in others. Those who have equal-mindedness see the good and bad qualities impartially. It is necessary therefore to cultivate good qualities. (Divine Discourse, Feb 11, 1983)

Chaitanya o la Conciencia, está presente en lo más pequeño así como en lo más grande. Desde el punto de vista de ustedes, un objeto puede parecer inerte, pero desde el punto de vista védico, todo es Conciencia (Chaitanya). Es tonto no notar la existencia de la Conciencia. Uno podría preguntar: si es omnipresente, ¿por qué no es visible a simple vista? Todos saben que hay mantequilla en cada gota de leche. ¿Pueden negar su existencia simplemente porque no es visible a simple vista? El proceso de obtener mantequilla consiste en cuajar la leche y luego batirla. Las personas son incapaces de percibir este principio de Chaitanya debido a dos defectos: 1) pasan por alto sus innumerables errores, y 2) agrandan los más mínimos errores de los demás. Podrán alcanzar la Divinidad sólo cuando pongan fin a esto. Es un gran pecado buscar faltas en los
demás. En lugar de esto, busquen las propias. Consideren su defecto más pequeño como un gran error y traten de rectificarlo. Discurso Divino del 12 de marzo de 2002.

 

Chaitanya or consciousness is present in the smallest to the biggest. From your point of view, an object may appear to be inert, but from the Vedic point of view, everything is Chaitanya. It is foolish to overlook the existence of Chaitanya. One may question, if it is all-pervasive, why is it not visible to the naked eye? You are all well aware of the fact that there is butter in every drop of milk. Can you deny its existence merely because it is not visible to the naked eye? The process of obtaining butter involves curdling the milk and then churning it. People are unable to perceive this Chaitanya principle because of two defects: 1. They overlook their innumerable mistakes, and 2. Magnify the minutest mistake of others. One can attain Divinity only when one stops this. It is a great sin to search for others’ faults. Instead, look for your own. Consider your smallest defect as a great blunder and try to rectify the same. (Divine Discourse, Mar

Nuestros ancestros indagaron sobre la naturaleza de la Divinidad a través de muchos caminos, pero no tuvieron éxito en reconocer la realidad. Por ende, empezaron a adorar a la Naturaleza (Prakriti). De allí en adelante, los bharatiyas se dedicaron a la adoración de ídolos (Mûrti Aradhana). Toda criatura que nace en este universo tiene una forma (mûrti). Los ídolos son inertes por naturaleza y no poseen las cualidades de compasión, amor, tolerancia y demás. Por esta razón, algunas personas están en contra de la adoración de ídolos. Esto es ignorancia. ¿Acaso no adoran los retratos de sus padres y abuelos? ¿Tienen vida estos retratos? No. Ni tampoco tienen las cualidades de compasión, amor, sacrificio, etcétera. Entonces, ¿cuál es el sentido de su adoración? A través de estos retratos recordamos las
virtudes e ideales que ellos representaron. Ustedes usan el dedo índice para señalar un objeto específico, digamos, una flor o un vaso. Similarmente, los ídolos son como indicadores que señalan a la Divinidad. Una vez que reconocen la Divinidad, ya no necesitan los indicadores, es decir, los ídolos. Siendo así, ¿no es una tontería oponerse a la adoración de ídolos? Discurso Divino del 12 de marzo de 2002.

 

Our ancients enquired into the nature of Divinity through many paths, but were not successful in recognising the reality. Hence, they started worshipping Prakriti (Nature). Thereafter, the Bharatiyas took to murti aradhana (idol-worship). Every creature that takes birth in this universe has a form (murti). Idols are inert in nature and do not possess the qualities of compassion, love, forbearance, etc. It is for this reason that some people are against idol-worship. This is ignorance. Are you not worshipping the pictures of your parents and grandparents? Do these pictures have life in them? No. Nor do they have the qualities of compassion, love, sacrifice, etc. Then what is the point in worshipping them? It is through these pictures that we are reminded of the virtues and ideals they stood for. You use your forefinger to point to a specific object, say, a flower or a tumbler. Similarly idols are like pointers to Divinity. Once you recognise Divinity,
you don’t need the pointers. Such being the case, is it not foolish to object to idol worship? (Divine Discourse, Mar 12, 2002)
