El cuerpo humano es como un carro y el Atma (Alma) es el cochero. Los muchos millones de cuerpos en el Universo pueden tener diferentes formas y nombres. Pero el Atma (Alma) es uno y el mismo. Es esencial reconocer la unidad que subyace a la diversidad aparente. Por ejemplo, el hambre es común a todos, aunque la comida a través de la cual es saciado, puede variar de un emperador a un mendigo. Del mismo modo, la alegría y el dolor, el nacimiento y la muerte son comunes a todos. El Atma es común a todos. Reconociendo esta unidad, ustedes deben comprometerse en el servicio. El servicio como un acto del Dharma (acción correcta) puede ser ofrecido solo por aquel que es puro de corazón, desinteresado y ecuánime hacia todos (Samatva). Todas las oportunidades de servicio deben ser consideradas como una ofrenda a Dios y toda oportunidad de servir debe ser bienvenida como un regalo de Dios. Cuando sirven con este
espíritu, a su debido tiempo, los conducirá a alcanzar la autorrealización. (Discurso Divino del 19 de noviembre de 1987)

 

The human body is like a chariot and the Atma (Soul) is the charioteer. The many million bodies in the Universe may have different forms and names. But the Atma (Soul) is one and the same. It is essential to recognise the unity that underlies the apparent diversity. For instance, hunger is common to all, though the food through which it is appeased may vary from an emperor to a beggar. Likewise, joy and grief, birth and death are common to all. Atma is common to everyone. Recognising this oneness, you must engage in service. Service as an act of Dharma (righteous duty) can be offered only by the one who is pure in heart, selfless and equal-minded towards everyone (Samatva). All opportunities of service should be regarded as an offering to God and every opportunity to serve should be welcomed as a gift from God. When you serve in this spirit, in due course, it will lead you to attain self-realisation. (Divine Discourse, Nov 19, 1987)
