Tyaga (el sacrificio o la renuncia) no es marcharse a la selva, abandonando cónyuge, hijos y propiedad. Lo que hay que sacrificar es el deseo de resultados, de los frutos de la propia acción. Esto es auténtico sacrificio. Deben renunciar a los deseos indiscriminados. Solo entonces se hará puro su corazón. Dios desea solo un corazón puro, amoroso y sagrado. Dios no desea ni necesita nada de ustedes. Son solo ustedes los que tienen deseos. Cuando tengan deseos nobles, Dios se sentirá feliz. Solo entonces su familia, la sociedad y el país experimentarán paz y felicidad. Primero y principal, la paz debe reinar en su propia casa. Después, esa paz se irradiará a la sociedad. Cuando la sociedad llegue a ser buena, el país prosperará. Para que la paz se establezca en el país, en primer lugar el individuo debe experimentar paz. La paz mundial solo es posible
cuando se ha establecido la paz a nivel individual. Si el individuo no está en paz, ¿cómo podría haber paz en el mundo? (Divino Discurso, 5 de septiembre de 2006)

 

Tyaga (sacrifice or renunciation) is not going to the forest, leaving behind your spouse, children and property. What needs to be sacrificed is the hankering for results, the fruits of one’s actions. That is true sacrifice. You must renounce indiscriminate desires. Then only will your heart become pure. God desires only a pure, loving and sacred heart. God does not desire or need anything from you! It is only you who have desires. When you have noble desires, God will be happy. It is only then your family, society and coun¬try will experience peace and happiness. First and foremost, peace should reign in your own home. Then, that peace will be radiated to the society. When societies become good, the country will prosper. If peace is to be established in the country, the individual should experience peace in the first instance. World peace is possible only when peace is established at the individual level. If an individual is not at peace,

Se suele decir «Dime con quién andas, y te diré quién eres». Por lo tanto, en primer lugar mantengan buenas compañías. Entonces llegarán a ser buenas personas. No necesitan adquirir la bondad de alguna otra parte. Es inherente a la naturaleza de ustedes. Deben cultivar la bondad dentro de sí mismos, así como se nutre a un tierno retoño para que se convierta en un gran árbol. Habiendo nacido como seres humanos, sería un gran pecado que se comportaran como animales. Dondequiera que las cualidades animales levanten su fea cabeza, ustedes deben recordarse inmediatamente: «No soy un animal; debo actuar como un ser humano». Lamentablemente, se mire donde se mire, las cualidades animales están hoy desenfrenadas. Vayan donde vayan, y quien sea con quien se crucen, hay un solo deseo: dinero, dinero y más dinero. Recuerden: ¡el dinero viene y
se va, pero la moralidad viene y crece! En consecuencia, cultiven los valores humanos, y crezcan en valores humanos. (Divino Discurso, 5 de septiembre de 2006)

 

It is said, “Tell me your company, I shall tell you what you are”. Hence, first and fore-most, move in good company. Then you will become a good individual. You need not acquire goodness from somewhere. It is inherent in your nature. You must cultivate goodness within yourself, just as a tender sapling is nourished and nurtured to become a big tree. Having been born as human beings, it is a great sin to behave like animals. Whenever animal qualities raise their ugly heads, you must immediately remind yourself, “I am not an animal; I must act as a human being.” Unfortunately, today, wherever you see, animal qualities are rampant. Wherever you go and whomever you come across, there is only one desire – money, money and more money. Remember, Money comes and goes, but moral¬ity comes and grows! La gente deposita su fe en un cuerpo físico sumamente frágil y efímero. Este cuerpo humano es un muñeco con nueve orificios, y puede colapsar en cualquier momento, con un simple estornudo. Al confiar en un cuerpo tan perecedero, olvidan los invaluables ornamentos guardados en él, que son los cinco valores humanos de Sathya, Dharma, Santi, Prema y Ahimsa; estas son las auténticas y altamente valiosas propiedades de todo ser humano. Esta es la razón por la que sufren de agitación mental. Si preguntan a un millonario «Señor, usted lo tiene todo en este mundo, pero ¿tiene paz?», él inmediatamente responderá «Lo tengo todo en este mundo, excepto paz». Dondequiera que miren hoy en el mundo, verán solo «pedazos», no «paz». La paz abunda en el Sí Mismo interior de ustedes. Por lo tanto, búsquenla en el
interior, ¡viajen hacia dentro! Este es su deber. Cuando sean capaces de manifestar sus nobles cualidades innatas, experimentarán la paz verdadera y eterna. (Divino Discurso, 5 de septiembre de 2006)

 

People repose their faith in such a frail and impermanent physical body. This human body is a puppet with nine holes in it, and it may collapse at any time with a mere sneeze. Placing their faith in such a perishable body, people forget the invaluable ornaments stored in it which are the five human values of Sathya, Dharma, Santi, Prema and Ahimsa; these are the true and most valuable property of every human being. That is the reason they suffer mental agitation. You go to a millionaire and enquire, “Sir! You have everything in this world, but do you have peace?” He will immediately reply, “I have everything in this world, but not peace.” Wherever you see in the world today, there are only ‘pieces’, no ‘peace’. Peace is very much in your inner self. Hence, seek it within, journey inward! That is your duty. When you are able to manifest your own innate noble qualities, you will experience true and eternal

Tres cualidades distinguen al hombre de otros animales. Ellas son: solidaridad, compasión y renunciación. Hoy una hambruna ha secado estos sentimientos del corazón humano. Esta condición trágica está generando agitación y disturbios entre ambos: estudiantes y docentes. La convicción de que el dinero puede conseguir cualquier cosa ha crecido en la mente de las personas, sin embargo es imposible promover la paz y seguridad por medio de la acumulación de dinero. El dinero puede comprar mucho alimento; no puede comprar el apetito o el hambre. El dinero puede comprar el cuidado médico y medicinas; pero no puede comprar salud ni inmunidad. El dinero puede comprar sirvientes; mas no puede comprar la buena voluntad. Puede comprar confort, pero no felicidad. No puede promover el carácter o la moralidad. Esta verdad debe ser comprendida por ambos, estudiantes y docentes. Ya que, los

Three qualities distinguish man from other animals. They are sympathy, compassion and renunciation. Today a famine has dried up these feelings in the human heart. This tragic condition is generating agitation and disturbance among both students and teachers. The conviction that money can achieve anything has grown in people’s mind, though it is impossible to promote peace and security through the accumulation of money. Money can buy plenty of food; it cannot buy appetite or hunger. Money can buy medical care and medicines; but it cannot buy health and immunity. Money can buy servants; it cannot buy goodwill. It can buy comfort, but not happiness. It cannot help to promote character or morality. This truth must be understood by both students and teachers. For, teachers mould the nation and students build the nation, sound and strong. (Divine Discourse, Sep 31, 1981)
