¡Realicen el karma (actividad) basado en la sabiduría espiritual de que todo es Uno! Que esté impregnado de devoción, humildad, amor, compasión y no violencia. Si la devoción no está llena de sabiduría espiritual, será liviana como un globo que va a la deriva con cualquier ráfaga de viento. La mera sabiduría hará que su corazón sea estéril, seco; la devoción lo suaviza con compasión y el karma le da a las manos algo que hacer, algo que santificará cada minuto de su vida. Es por eso que a la devoción se le llama “upasana”, que también significa: ‘morar cerca’ sintiendo la Presencia y compartiendo la dulzura de la Divinidad. El anhelo de “upasana” los impulsa a realizar peregrinajes, a construir y renovar templos, a consagrar imágenes y a ofrecer la adoración prescrita. Todo esto es
karma del más elevado orden y conduce a la sabiduría espiritual. Primero, comiencen con la idea: «Estoy en la Luz». Luego sientan: “La luz está en mí», lo que los llevará a la convicción: «Yo soy la Luz». ¡Esa es sabiduría suprema! Discurso Divino del 7 de julio de 1963.

 

Do karma (activity) based on the spiritual wisdom that all is One! Let it be suffused with devotion, humility, love, compassion and nonviolence. If devotion is not filled with spiritual wisdom it will be light as a balloon, which drifts along any gust of wind. Mere wisdom will make your heart dry; devotion makes it soft with sympathy, and karma gives the hands something to do, something that will sanctify your every minute you live. That is why devotion is referred to as upasana which also means ‘dwelling near’, feeling the Presence, and sharing the sweetness of Divinity. The yearning for upasana prompts you to go on pilgrimages, to construct and renovate temples, to consecrate images and offer prescribed worship. All this is karma of a high order; they lead to spiritual wisdom. First, you start with the idea, “I am in the Light.” Then you feel, “The light is in me,” leading to the conviction, “I am the

Cierta vez Krishna fingió tener un insoportable dolor de cabeza. Vendado en la cabeza y los ojos enrojecidos, con paños calientes, Él se revolcaba sin descanso sobre la cama. Las reinas Rukmini y Satyabhama probaron muchos remedios que fueron infructuosos. Junto con Narada, cuando consultaron al mismo Señor Krishna, ¡Él los mandó a traerle el polvo de los pies de un verdadero devoto! De un santiamén, Narada mismo se presentó ante algunos célebres devotos, pero eran demasiado humildes para ofrecer el polvo de sus pies, ¡para ser usado como remedio para el Señor! Desconsolado regresó Narada. Krishna preguntó: «¿Has preguntado a las Gopis?» ¡Narada se apresuró con desconfianza! Cuando las Gopis escucharon, sin pensarlo, ¡sacudieron el polvo de sus pies y le llenaron las manos! Antes de que Narada llegase a Dwaraka, el dolor de cabeza
de Krishna ¡había desaparecido! El Señor interpretó este drama de cinco días para enseñar que la auto condena es también egoísmo y cuando el ego se va, no te sientes superior ni inferior, y que un devoto debe obedecer la orden del Señor sin demora. Once Krishna pretended to suffer from an unbearable headache. With warm clothes wound around His head and red eyes, He rolled restlessly in bed. Queens Rukmini and Satyabhama tried many remedies that proved ineffective. Along with Narada, when they consulted Lord Krishna, He directed to bring the dust of the feet of a true devotee! In a trice, Narada manifested himself in the presence of some celebrated devotees, but they were too humble to offer dust of their feet to be used for their Lord as a drug! Narada returned disappointed. Krishna asked, “Did you ask Gopis?” Narada hurried with disbelief! When the Gopis heard this, without a second thought, they shook the dust off their feet and filled his hands! Even before Narada reached Dwaraka, Krishna’s headache had disappeared! The Lord enacted this five-day drama to teach that self-condemnation is also egoism and when ego goes, you feel neither superior nor inferior, and a devotee must
obey the Lord’s command without demur. (Divine Discourse, Jul 07, 1963)

Hay tres tipos de personas (1) no creyentes, quienes consideran los objetos del mundo como reales(2) aquellos que creen en una voluntad detrás de todo lo que ven y experimentan, y reverencian dicha voluntad. Tratan de entenderla, se adhieren a ella y no van en su contra; y (3) aquellos que han realizado que el mundo objetivo tiene solo un valor relativo. Los últimos dos no culparán a nadie, incluyendo al Señor, por sus dolores y penas. Mientras el hijo o hija sea menor, podrán disponer de su parte de la propiedad paterna. Cuando sus prácticas espirituales no son lo suficientemente fuertes para trazar el destino propio, sufren y luchan. Cuando dicen «Yo, yo, yo,» están por su cuenta, es posible que tambaleen y caigan.¡ Digan «No yo, sino Tú,» entonces todas las cosas les serán dadas!¡ Los resultados de las acciones pasadas simplemente se diluirán como la niebla ante el

There are three types of people: (1) non-believers, who consider worldly objects as real; (2) those who believe in a will behind all that they see and experience, and bow to that will. They try to understand that will, adhere to it and will not run against it; and (3) those who have realised that the objective world has only relative value. The latter two will not blame anyone, including the Lord, for their ills and pains. Until the son or daughter is a minor, they will not be entitled to their share of parental property. When your spiritual practices are not strong enough to chart your own destiny, you suffer and struggle. When you say, “I, I, I”, you are on your own, you may even stumble and fall. Say, “Not I, but You,” then all things are added unto you! Results of past actions simply will melt away like fog before the sun when you call out to the Lord! (Divine Discourse, Nov 24, 1961)

Si miras fijo al sol por un segundo y luego miras otras cosas alrededor, verás que hay un parche oscuro sobre ellas, y no puedes identificarlas. Igualmente, una vez que obtienes la visión de Dios, quien es más refulgente que mil soles, no puedes ya reconocer la multiplicidad llamada naturaleza (prakriti). El mundo es negro, está bloqueado; es más , ya no puedes reconocer o manejarte con la variedad una vez que has tenido la visión de la Unidad básica. Tomen la pantalla en el cine. Cuando la película está pasando, no ves la pantalla, solo ves la película. Cuando termina, puedes ver solo una pantalla, una pantalla que no tiene ningún mensaje- ni voz o nombre, color o credo. La pantalla completa se perdía en la imagen. La pantalla es Brahman. Brahman es Verdad ( Satyam), el Universo es Brahman. Aquello es el Ser (Sat); esto es Consciencia (Chit). Saberlo y tratar con

If you stare at the sun for a second and then turn your eye to other things around, you will find that there is a dark patch over them, and you cannot recognise them. Similarly, once you get a vision of God, who is more effulgent than a thousand suns, you can no longer recognise the multiplicity called nature (prakriti). The world is black, it is blocked; indeed, you can no longer recognise or deal with variety once you have had a vision of the basic Unity. Take the screen in the cinema theatre. When the film is on, you do not see the screen, you see only the play. When the show is over, you see just a screen, a screen that has no message — neither voice nor name nor form nor colour nor creed. The entire screen was lost in the picture. The screen is Brahman. Brahman is Truth (Satyam); the Universe is Brahman. That is Being (Sat); this is Awareness (Chit). Knowing this and dealing with both is Bliss (Anandam). (Divine Discourse, Oct 22, 1961)
