En una ocasión, cuando pregunté a un grupo de personas sobre qué cosa les gustaría ser en las manos de Dios, recibí variadas respuestas. Algunos dijeron el loto, otros el caracol marino, y así por el estilo, ¡pero nadie mencionó a la flauta ! Les aconsejo que se imaginen como una flauta, porque de esa forma el Señor vendrá a ustedes, los tomará y pondrá entre Sus labios, y soplará a través de ustedes. En la hoquedad de vuestros corazones – y debido a la total ausencia de egoísmo – Él creará una cautivante música para que la disfrute toda la Creación. Sean rectos, sin ninguna voluntad propia.
La vida que lleven de ahora en adelante deberá estar empapada de Bienaventuranza Divina. Fusionen su propia voluntad con la Voluntad de Dios. Inhalen solamente el aliento de Dios. Esa es la vida divina a la que deben
aspirar, y también es, ciertamente, la misión para la cual nace cada individuo : fusionar lo individual con lo Universal.

Once when I asked a number of people as to what they would like to be in the hands of God, I got various answers. Some said the lotus, others the conch, the discus and so on, but no one mentioned the flute! I advise you to become the flute, for then the Lord will come to you, pick you up, put you on to His lips, and breathe through you. Out of the hollowness of your heart due to the utter absence of egoism, He will create captivating music for all creation to enjoy. Be straight, without any will of your own. The life that you lead from now on must be soaked with Divine Bliss. Merge your will in the will of God. Inhale only the breath of God. That is the divine life that you must achieve. Such divine life is indeed the mission for which every individual is born – to merge the individual in the Universal. (Divine Discourse, Venkatagiri, Apr 1957)

¿De qué le sirve a un artista con visión el poseer pinturas y telas si no está inspirado para pintar ? ¿Qué pueden hacer el cincel y un trozo de mármol si no se forma una imagen en el corazón de un escultor devoto ? Esa visión y esa imagen son las chispas de la Divinidad. Todos ustedes son «la Divinidad» en piel y huesos humanos; son el Atma envasada en la evanescente carne humana. Conozcan esto y vuélvanse intrépidos, felices sin límites. Líbrense de la cobertura de ego que ahora sienten que los tiene atrapados, ¡y así saldrán de la inexistente «prisión» que ahora los envuelve tan rigurosamente como si fuera real ! ¿ Cómo debe vivir uno de manera de no degradar su propia condición humana ? Se debe estar consciente todo el tiempo de que este cuerpo y su equipamiento son una morada temporaria, que uno es la
Divinidad eterna, que el Atma está aparentemente envuelta por el físico, como la luna en un estanque de agua. Este conocimiento del espíritu es de la más alta sabiduría.

What can the possession of canvas and paint do, if an artist with vision is not inspired to paint? What can the chisel and a lump of marble do if no image is formed in the heart of a devoted sculptor? That vision and that image are the sparks of the Divine. You are all ‘the Divine’ packed in human skin and bone; you are the Atma encased in the evanescent flesh. Know this and you become fearless, happy without limit. Get rid of the ego-enclosure in which you now feel you are entrapped; then you are liberated from the non-existent ‘prison’ which now enfolds you as hard as an existent one! How must one live so as to not demean one’s human status? One has to be conscious all the time that this body and its equipment are a temporary abode; that one is the eternal Divine, the Atma is apparently encaged in the physical, as the moon in a pot of water. This knowledge of the spirit is the higher wisdom. (Divine Discourse, Jul 8,

El objetivo del aspirante espiritual debería ser estar mentalmente listo para tomar conciencia de Dios en cualquier momento dado. Vale decir, el corazón debe ser librado de desesperanza, vacilación y dudas, y abierto a las olas de bienaventuranza que surgen desde todos lados en el Universo Divino. ¡El amor es quien atrae las olas, siempre expansivas en su naturaleza ! El sendero que tú transites dependerá de los principios en los que creas. Sigue buenos principios y serás conducido hacia donde coseches buenos frutos. Adhiérete a las directivas divinas con fe y sinceridad, y eso te ayudará a darte cuenta del propósito de tu vida. Teniendo en cuenta que cada acto tiene su apropiada reacción, cuídate de las intenciones malvadas, de las palabras perversas, de los actos que dañan a otros y, por lo tanto, a ti también. Yo deseo que siempre transites por el
sendero del bien y que así logres buenos resultados en la vida. Que vivas tan bien como para reverenciar a cada ser como a un templo móvil de la Divinidad.

The spiritual aspirant’s objective should be to be mentally ready for the realisation of Godhead, at any given moment. That is to say, the heart must be cleansed of despair, freed from hesitation and doubt, and open to the waves of bliss that surge in from all sides of God’s Universe. Love brings the waves in, ever expansive as they are! The path you tread depends on the principles you believe in! Follow good principles, you will be led along to reap good fruits. Adhere to Divine directives with faith and sincerity. That will help you realise the purpose of your life. Since every act has its appropriate reaction, beware of evil intentions, wicked words, acts that harm others and therefore harm you. I desire that you must always tread the path of goodness and achieve good results in life. Live so well, such that, you revere every being as moving temples of the Divine. Ahora se les servirá a todos «prasadam» (ofrenda comestible en un templo) al concluír los bhajans. «Prasadam» también significa gracia, la cual fluye de Dios cuando Él es invocado. Cuando se les ofrece «prasadam», sólo tienen que efectuar una pequeña acción para recibirlo : ¡ deben extender su mano y aceptarlo ! Pero Mi Gracia está siempre con ustedes, no es algo que se da o se quita, y también es siempre aceptada por la conciencia que está apercibida de su significado. Ustedes deben ganar la gracia de su propio subconsciente de manera que éste pueda aceptar la Gracia de Dios, que está siempre disponible. Pueden ganarla enseñándole al subconsciente el valor de Mi Gracia, que es derramada doquiera que estén a través de Mi Amor infinito, sin siquiera calcular o medir si vuestro subconsciente está listo o no para recibirla y
beneficiarse con ella. Cuando acepten Mi Gracia, ella les conferirá fe y fortaleza, sabiduría y alegría. (Divino Discurso, 24 Feb. 1971).

 

Now you will all be served prasadam (eatables as offerings in a temple) at the conclusion of the bhajans. Prasadam also means grace, which flows from God when He is propitiated. When prasadam is offered, you have to do only one little act, so that you may receive it – you have to extend your hand and accept it! But My grace is ever with you; it is not something that is given or taken; also it is always accepted by the consciousness that is aware of its significance. You must win the grace of your own subconscious so that it may accept the grace of God which is ever available. You can win it by teaching it the value of the My grace. My grace is showered wherever you are through My infinite Love, without even calculating or measuring the readiness of your subconscious to receive it and benefit by it. When you accept My grace it will itself confer on you the faith and the strength, the wisdom and the joy. (Divine Discourse, Feb 24, 1971)
