El amor a Dios sólo puede germinar en un corazón bien arado y libre de malezas, de modo que prepara tu corazón mediante «Namasmarana», la constante recitación del nombre divino. Esto es lo que se llama «Chitta shuddhi yoga», el Sendero de la Limpieza de Consciencia. Carga con la Divina corriente . que emana del nombre – cada segundo de tiempo. Ten siempre el nombre del Señor en tu lengua y en tu aliento, de continuo. Eso evocará Su Forma como la médula de cada cosa, de cada pensamiento y acontecimiento, y también te proporcionará Su compañía y contacto con Su infalible energía y bienaventuranza. Ese es el «Satsang» (buena asociación) que te dará máximo beneficio. Conversa con Dios que está en ti, y obtén de Ël coraje y consuelo. Él es el Gurú más interesado en tu progreso. No busques otro Gurú
fuera de ti, en ermitas o lugares santos. Dios en ti es tu Padre, Madre, preceptor y amigo. Dios es amor. Vive en amor. Esa es la dirección indicada por los sabios. (Divino Discurso, 1 de Marzo 1968).

 

ove for God can grow only in a well-ploughed heart, free from weeds. So prepare your heart through Namasmarana (constant recital of the divine name). This is called Chitta shuddhi yoga – The path of Consciousness-cleansing. Charge every second of time with the Divine current that emanates from the name. Have the name of the Lord always on your tongue and in your breath, ever. That will evoke His form, as the inner core of everything, every thought and turn of events. That will provide you with His company, and contact with His unfailing energy and bliss. That is the Satsanga (good association) that gives you maximum benefit. Converse with God who is in you, and derive courage and consolation from Him. He is the Guru most interested in your progress. Do not seek the Guru outside you, in hermitages or holy places. The God in you is father, mother, preceptor, and friend. God is Love; live in Love – that is the direction indicated by the sages. (Divine

Haz una lista de todas las cosas que has anhelado hasta hoy. Te darás cuenta que has deseado sólo cosas mezquinas, buscando distinciones momentáneas, de fama fugaz. A partir de ahora sólo deberías suspirar por Dios, por tu propia limpieza interior y consumación. Deberías derramar lágrimas lamentándote por las seis cobras que han anidado en tu mente, envenenándola: la Lujuria, la Ira, la Codicia, el Apego, el Orgullo, y la Malicia. Aquiétalas tal como hace el Encantador de Serpientes con su arrulladora flauta. La música que puede domarlas es el canto en voz alta del nombre de Dios, y cuando estén demasiado intoxicadas para moverse y hacer daño. tómalas del cuello y arranca sus colmillos como lo hace el Encantador. A partir de ahí serán como tus juguetes y podrás manejarlas como gustes. Logrado esto, ganarás en
ecuanimidad y no serás afectado por los honores o deshonores, ganancias o pérdidas, alegrías o penas. (Divino Discurso, 26 Marzo, 1968)

 

Make a list of all the things for which you have cried so far. You will find that you have craved only for paltry things, for momentary distinctions, and for fleeting fame. From now on, you should cry only for God, for your own cleansing and consummation. You should weep, wailing for the six cobras that have sheltered themselves in your mind, poisoning it with their venom – Lust, anger, greed, attachment, pride and malice. Quieten them as the snake charmer does with his swaying flute. The music that can tame them is the singing aloud of the name of God. And when they are too intoxicated to move and harm, catch them by the neck and pull out their fangs as the charmer does. Thereafter they can be your playthings; you can handle them as you please. When these are laid low, you will gain equanimity. You will be unaffected by honour or dishonour, profit or loss, joy or grief. (Divine Discourse, Mar 26, 1968)

¿Te gusta el canto del cuervo ? No, lo espantas tan pronto empieza a graznar. Su voz es tosca y demasiado estridente. Por otra parte, el cucú se ve muy parecido al cuervo, pero a todo el mundo le encanta oír su melodioso trino, no ? Dios te bendijo con una lengua para que expresaras tus pensamientos, ideas, sentimientos, deseos, oraciones, alegrías y pesares. Cuando estás enfadado, la empleas para proferir palabras duras en un tono elevado. Cuando estás feliz, la usas para expresar palabras dulces en voz baja y placentera. Te pido que utilices tu lengua solamente para tu bien y para el bien de otros. Si hablas duramente a los demás, ellos también responderán en voz alta y ásperamente. Las palabras airadas sólo conducen a más airadas reacciones, pero si utilizas palabras suaves y dulces cuando alguien está furioso contigo, esa persona se calmará
y lamentará haberse expresado de esa forma. de modo que habla siempre suavemente y con dulzura.

Do you like the voice of a crow? You drive the crow away when it starts to ‘caw’ Its voice is harsh and too loud. On the other hand, the cuckoo looks just like the crow, but everyone likes to hear its sweet voice, isn’t it? God blessed you with a tongue to express your thoughts, ideas, feelings, desires, prayers, joys and sorrows. If you are angry, you use it to speak out harsh words in a loud tone. When you are happy, you use it to speak soft words in a low and pleasant voice. I ask that you use your tongue only for your good and the good of others. If you speak harshly to another, they too respond loudly and harshly; angry words lead to more angry reactions. But if you use soft and sweet words when another is angry towards you, they will calm down and be sorry that they used their tongue in that way. So always speak softly and sweetly. La hipocresía se observa hoy desenfrenada en el ámbito espiritual, más que nunca antes. Observemos a un imán y a un hierro. El primero atraerá hacia sí al otro, y ese es el destino de ambos, pero si el hierro está cubierto de herrumbre resistirá la atracción del imán, que no podrá actuar con suficiente fortaleza para atraer hacía sí al hierro. ¡El anhelo de placeres sensuales actúa ciertamente como la herrumbre ! Comienza con polvo, el cual induce a la herrumbre, y ésta terminará arruinando al mismo hierro al cambiar su naturaleza innata. Por eso el hierro debe ser constantemente observado y limpiado, para que cuando se contacte con el imán también consiga su cualidad magnética y logre su objetivo. Ese es el mejor logro para uno y otro. La capa de polvo de los anhelos sensuales puede ser evitada conservando buenas
compañías, y también poniendo en práctica los axiomas de buena conducta que uno aprende de ellas. (Divino Discurso, 11 Marzo 1968)

 

Hypocrisy is rampant now in the spiritual field more than ever before. There is iron and magnet. The magnet will draw the iron to itself; that is the destiny of both. But, if the iron is covered with rust, the grace of the magnet may not operate strong enough to draw the iron near. Greed for sensual pleasure will certainly act as rust! It acts as dust, which induces rust; the rust will ultimately ruin the iron itself and change its innate nature. So, the iron must be tested constantly and dusted. Then, when it contacts the magnet, it too earns the magnetic quality and achieves its quest. That achievement is the best for both magnet and iron. The dust of sensual greed can be prevented by keeping good company, and putting into practice the axioms of good conduct that one learns from it (Divine Discourse, Mar 11, 1968)
