El cuerpo humano tiene como propósito servir a otros, no el de utilizarlo en acciones egoistas. En razón de que el egoismo se ha convertido en parte y porción de nuestras vidas, nos dedicamos a muchas actividades pecaminosas. Huye del egoismo y acércate al servicio desinteresado. Abandona el apego al cuerpo, y apégate al Yo interior. Comprende que el mismo Yo interior (Atma) existe en todos. A pesar de que un gran salón está iluminado por cantidad de lámparas eléctricas, la corriente que pasa a través de todas ellas es la misma. Los cuerpos son como las lámparas, y el principio del Atma es la corriente que está presente en todas ellas. Con ese sentimiento de unicidad, haz esfuerzos para aliviar los sufrimientos de tus semejantes. El sabio Vyasa nos dió la esencia de los 18 Puranas en el dictum: «Paropakaraya Punyaya Papaya Parapeedanam» ( uno obtiene
mérito al servir a otros y comete pecado al herirlos). de manera que practica » Siempre ayudar, jamás herir». No hay práctica espiritual más elevada que esta. Es la base de la auto-realización . (Divino Discurso, 14 Abril 2001).

 

Human body is meant to serve others, not to indulge in selfish deeds. As selfishness has become part and parcel of our lives, we indulge in many sinful activities. Eschew selfishness, take to selfless service. Give up attachment towards the body. Become attached to the Self. Understand that the same Self (Atma) exists in everyone. Though you find several bulbs glowing in a big hall, the current that is passing through them is the same. Bodies are like bulbs; the principle of Atma is the current that is present in them. With such a feeling of oneness, make efforts to alleviate the suffering of your fellow beings. Sage Vyasa has given the essence of 18 Puranas in the dictum: Paropakaraya Punyaya, Papaya Parapeedanam (one attains merit by serving others and commits sin by hurting them). So, practice ‘Help ever, hurt never’. There is no higher spiritual practice than this. This is the foundation for self-realisation. [Divine

El día de hoy no es diferente del día de ayer. Si haces el bien hoy, cosecharás sus frutos en el futuro, así que santifica tus acciones. Recuerda, la inmortalidad no se alcanza a través de hechos, progenie o riquezas, sino solamente mediante el sacrificio. La bienaventuranza que recibes por el sacrificio es eterna, es verdadera riqueza y jamás puede decrecer. Para adquirir fortuna tan duradera, invierte tu tiempo en la contemplación de Dios. La Divinidad debe permear todo lo que ves, oyes y sientes. El amor es la más grande riqueza y tesoro. Permite que cada una de tus acciones esté colmada de amor. El amor produce recompensas sagradas. Deja que el mundo entero se llene de amor. El amor por sí solo puede proteger países y convertirlos en prósperos. Vive tú en la constante compañía de la Divinidad que todo lo permea. ¿Por qué
temer cuando Yo estoy contigo, en ti y a tu alrededor ? Si tienes fe, ¡Dios te protegerá doquiera que estés !

Today is no different from yesterday. If you do good now, you will reap its benefits in future. So, sanctify your actions. Remember, immortality is not attained through action, progeny or wealth. It is attained only by sacrifice. The bliss you get from sacrifice is eternal. It is true wealth and can never diminish! To acquire such everlasting wealth, invest your time in the contemplation of God. Divinity must pervade all that you see, hear and feel. Love is the greatest wealth and treasure. Let every action of yours be filled with love. Love begets sacred rewards. Let the whole world be filled with love. Love alone can safeguard countries and make them prosperous. Live in the constant company of all-pervasive Divinity. Why fear when I am with you, in you and around you? If you have faith, God will protect you wherever you are! [Divine Discourse, Apr 14, 2001]

El día de hoy marca el comienzo del año nuevo de Tamil y Kerala. Muchos Años Nuevos como este han venido y se han ido. Todos ustedes esperan del año nuevo que les confiera – a ustedes mismos y al mundo en general – paz, felicidad y prosperidad, pero el bienestar del mundo depende de tu conducta y comportamiento. Tu conducta depende de tu mente, y la naturaleza de la mente depende de los pensamientos. Sólo cuando tus pensamientos estén basados en la verdad, podrá florecer el mundo. Si aspiras al bienestar del mundo, asegúrate de que tus pensamientos y acciones estén en concordancia con tus aspiraciones. Si hay ira en ti, no podrás escapar a la desdicha. Alguien que tenga deseos no podrá alcanzar nunca la felicidad. Cuanto menos equipaje, más comodidad. Los deseos son tu equipaje. Redúcelos para llevar una vida confortable. Una persona codiciosa nunca
puede lograr prosperidad. Abandona la codicia y serás feliz, próspero y bienaventurado. (Divino Discurso, 14 Abril 2001).

 

Today marks the commencement of the (Tamil and Kerala) New Year. Many such New Years have come and gone by. Everyone expects the new year to confer on them and the world at large peace, happiness and prosperity. But the welfare of the world depends on your conduct and behavior. Your conduct depends on your mind. The nature of the mind depends on thoughts. Only when your thoughts are based on truth, will the world flourish. If you aspire for the welfare of the world, see to it that your thoughts and actions are in accordance with your aspirations. If you have anger in you, you cannot escape misery. One with desires can never attain happiness. Less luggage, more comfort. Desires are your luggage. Reduce them in order to lead a comfortable life. A greedy person can never attain prosperity. Give up greed and you will be happy, prosperous and blissful. [Divine Discourse, April 14, 2001]

Si te aparece un forúnculo en el cuerpo, aplicas un ungüento sobre él y lo cubres con un vendaje hasta que sane. Si no aplicas el ungüento y no colocas el vendaje alrededor de esta herida, es muy posible que se vuelva séptica y cause un gran daño posteriormente. De vez en cuando debes limpiarla con agua pura, aplicar nuevamente el ungüento y reemplazar el vendaje. De manera similar, en nuestra vida tenemos este forúnculo que nos ha aparecido en el cuerpo en la forma de «Yo». Si realmente quieres curarte esta erupción de «Yo», deberás lavarla todos los días con el agua del amor, aplicar sobre ella el ungüento de la fe y ajustar una venda de humildad a su alrededor. El vendaje de humildad, el ungüento de la fe y el agua del amor curarán con seguridad esta afección que nos apareció con esta erupción de «Yo». (Divino Discurso, 17 Febrero

If there is a boil on the body, you apply ointment on it and cover it with a bandage until it heals. If you do not apply ointment and tie the bandage around this wound, it is likely to become septic and cause great harm later. Now and then you must clean it with pure water, apply ointment again and put on a new bandage. In the same way, in our life, there is this boil which has come up in our body in the form of ‘I’. If you want to really cure this boil of ‘I’, you will have to wash it every day with the waters of love, apply the ointment of faith on it and tie the bandage of humility around it. The bandage of humility, the ointment of faith, and the waters of love will surely cure this disease that erupted with this boil of ‘I’. [Divine Discourse, Feb 17, 1985]
