Con el fin de alejar el mal, muchas personas que hasta entonces nunca habían desembolsado para caridad, tienden a gastar con despilfarro en rituales, adoración y la propiciación de poderes planetarios. Está bien; que circule algún dinero desde un bolsillo a otro que lo necesita más. Que el dinero circule. Que crezca el espíritu de caridad, aunque sea gracias al pánico. Pero la calamidad, el peligro y la muerte no pueden evitarse para siempre; son factores inevitables de la vida, y ustedes tienen que aprender a vivir valientemente con ellos. Esto se puede lograr solo mediante la oración ininterrumpida, no mediante arranques de adoración incitados por el miedo repentino. Purifiquen su corazón y sus pensamientos, sentimientos, emociones y palabras; refuercen sus impulsos más nobles. Entonces, no habrá pánico que pueda inquietarlos, y nada podrá
conmover su estabilidad y paz interior (Prashanti). Sus plegarias serán escuchadas y respondidas; el Señor no hace distinción entre grandes y pequeños, superiores o inferiores. (Divino Discurso, 4 de marzo de 1962)

 

In order to ward off evil, some people, who have so far never spent on charity tend to spend lavishly for holy rituals, worship rites, and the propitiation of planetary powers. So far, so good; let some money flow from one pocket to another that needs it more. Let money circulate. Let the spirit of charity grow, even out of panic. But calamity, danger, and death cannot be avoided for all time; they are inevitable factors of life, and you have to learn to live bravely with them. This can be accomplished only by uninterrupted prayer, and not by spurts of worship actuated by sudden fear. Purify your hearts and your thoughts, feelings, emotions, and speech; strengthen your nobler impulses. Then, no panic can unnerve you and nothing can shake your stability and inner peace (Prasanthi). Your prayers will be heard and answered; the Lord has no distinction of big or small, high or low. (Divine Discourse, Mar 4, 1962)

Hay tres tipos de personas que acuden al Señor. a) El tipo del águila, que se abalanza de repente sobre el objetivo con codiciosa ligereza, y por su propio impacto no logra aferrar el objeto codiciado. b) El tipo del mono, que salta de un lado a otro, de una fruta a la otra, incapaz de decidir cuál es más sabrosa. c) El tipo de la hormiga, que avanza lenta pero segura hacia el objeto deseable. La hormiga no golpea la fruta haciéndola caer, ni arranca todas las frutas que ve; se apropia solo de la cantidad que puede asimilar, no más. Ustedes no desperdicien el tiempo asignado para su estancia en la Tierra, en tontas vanidades ni en buscar culpas, lo que los mantiene siempre fuera de casa. ¿Cuándo irán adentro, a la calidez y quietud de su propio interior? Retírense de vez en cuando en soledad y silencio; experimenten la alegría que solo se deriva de lo interior. (Divino

There are three types of people who approach the Lord: a) the eagle type, which swoops down on the target with a greedy swiftness and suddenness that, by its very impact, fails to secure the object coveted; b) The monkey type, which flits hither and thither, from one fruit to another, unable to decide which is tasty; c) and the ant type, which moves steadily but slowly toward the desirable object. The ant does not hit the fruit hard and make it fall away, nor does it pluck all the fruits it sees; it appropriates just as much as it can assimilate, and no more. Do not fritter away the time allotted to you for sojourning on Earth in foolish foppery and fault finding, which always keep you outdoors. When are you going to walk indoors into the warmth and quiet of your own interior? Now and then, retire into solitude and silence; experience the joy derivable only from within. Ustedes reclaman nuevas experiencias de Mi naturaleza divina, para que su fe pueda reforzarse con ellas. Para conocer el sabor del agua de mar, ¿no es suficiente una gota sobre la lengua? ¿Necesitan acaso tomarla toda?¡Son sus caprichos, su egoísmo y su orgullo los que les hacen dudar y negar lo que una vez han probado! ¿No es suficiente con una experiencia? Bien, permítanme preguntarles. ¿Cómo podría lo limitado conocer la profundidad de lo Ilimitado? ¿Cómo podría la hormiga explicarse la montaña? Medirme a Mí está por encima de la capacidad de ustedes. No tienen paciencia ni siquiera para ocuparse de los problemas de una sola familia, a pesar de que es su responsabilidad. Imaginen Mi paciencia, que Me permite escuchar y resolver los problemas de millones de familias, con amor infinito. Es imposible para ustedes apreciar la fuerza de este
vínculo supra-mundano que los une a Mí. La experiencia de ese vínculo les llegará de improviso. Su deber es esperar el momento. ¡Confíen, y sean bendecidos! (Divino Discurso, 23 de octubre de 1961)

 

You clamour for further experience of My divine nature and ask that your faith might be strengthened therefrom. To know the taste of sea water, isn’t a drop on the tongue enough? Do you need to drink it all? It is your waywardness, egoism, and pride that makes you doubt and deny what you once tasted! Isn’t one experience enough? Well, let Me ask, how can the limited know the depth of the Unlimited? How can the ant delve into the mountain? It is beyond you to gauge Me. You have no patience even to deal with the problems of a single family, though it is your responsibility. Imagine My patience that allows Me to listen to and solve problems of million families with infinite love! You can never grasp the strength of this super-worldly bond that ties you to Me. The experience of that bond will come to you unaware. Your duty is to await the moment. Believe and be blessed! (Divine Discourse, Oct 23, 1961)

Hagan que el Señor sea su padre o su madre, pero solo como un primer paso que los lleve a una relación perdurable, y termine fundiéndose con el Absoluto. No se detengan en los escalones; entren en la mansión a la que ellos conducen. La conexión con el alma (Atmasambandha) es una asociación eterna e invariable. Como primer paso, ustedes ofrendan flores, una llama e incienso, para adorar a la forma con atributos. Pronto, su devoción debe avanzar a nuevas ofrendas que sean más puras, más valiosas y más dignas de su Señor. Nadie permanece mucho tiempo escribiendo sólo en la pizarra; ustedes también deben sentir que deben colocar ante el Señor algo más durable que las flores y el incienso. Deben sentir el deseo de purificarse y hacer que su vida entera sea una fragante llama. Esto es la verdadera adoración, la auténtica devoción.
No vengan a Mí con las manos llenas de desperdicios, pues ¿cómo podré llenarlas de Gracia? Vengan con las manos vacías, y llévense Mi tesoro, Mi amor. (Divino Discurso, 26 de octubre de 1961)

 

Take the Lord to be your father or mother, but only as a first step leading to a lasting relationship that ends in merging with the absolute. Do not pause on the steps; enter the mansion to which they lead. The connection with the soul (Atmasambandha) is an everlasting and unchanging association. As a first step, you offer flowers, lamp, incense to worship the attributeful form. Soon, your devotion should move on to newer offerings that are purer and more valuable and worthier of your Lord. No one sticks to the slate for long; you too should feel that you must place before the Lord something more lasting than flowers and incense. You must feel like purifying yourself and making your entire life one fragrant flame. That is real worship, real devotion. Do not come to Me with hands full of trash, for how can I then fill them with Grace? Come with empty hands and carry away My treasure, My love. (Divine Discourse, Oct 26, 1961)
