La bandera es el símbolo de la victoria, celebrando la alegría de la Independencia. Cada nación tiene su propia bandera, pero presten atención a otra enseña, la que simboliza otra laudable victoria sobre los propios bajos instintos, impulsos, pasiones, emociones y deseos, la bandera que tiene que ser desplegada en cada corazón humano. Cuando ustedes logren esa victoria, se convertirán en los verdaderos herederos de la cultura Bharatiya. Todos deben amar a su Madre Patria, pero eso no debe conducir a odiar la patria de otros, por lo que deben orar «Que todo el mundo esté feliz y en paz». Recuerden siempre que la paz y felicidad de ustedes está ligada a la paz y felicidad del mundo. Cualquier acto de odio o violencia cometido por ustedes contaminará la atmósfera del mundo. Cuando ustedes adoran a cualquier ser viviente, esa adoración llega a Dios porque Él
está en cada ser. Si insultan a alguien, el insulto también alcanza a Dios, de modo que expandan amor hacia todos, en todas partes. (Divino Discurso, 15 Agosto 1985).

 

The flag is the symbol of victory, celebrating the joy of Independence. Each nation has its own flag. Pay attention to another flag to symbolise another laudable victory over one’s lower instincts, impulses, passions, emotions and desires – the flag that has to be unfurled in every human heart. When you achieve that victory, you will become the true inheritors of Bharatiya culture. Everyone must love their motherland. But that should not lead to hating the other’s motherland. Hence you must pray, «May all the world be happy and peaceful.” Always remember that your peace and happiness are linked with the world’s peace and happiness. Any act of hatred or violence committed by you will pollute the atmosphere of the world. When you adore any living being, the adoration reaches God, for He is in every being. Insult any living being and the insult too reaches God. So, expand love towards all, everywhere. (Divine Discourse, Aug 15,

Los ojos, los oídos, la nariz y las manos son diferentes miembros del cuerpo. El cuerpo es un miembro de la sociedad, y la sociedad es un miembro de la Humanidad. Esta, a su vez, es parte de la Naturaleza, y esta es parte de Dios. El ser humano está dando mal uso a sus miembros debido al impacto de la educación actual. Los «Vedas» enseñan que toda la educación que uno adquiere debe ser utilizada para el bienestar de la sociedad. Dicen los «Vedas» : «Sarvaloka hite ratah» («Uno debería involucrarse en el servicio a la sociedad»), «Sarvajnanopa sampannah» («Uno debería ser un tesoro de sabiduría»), y «Sarva samudita gunaihi» («Uno debería cultivar todas las buenas cualidades»). Luego de la educación, uno debería trabajar por el bienestar de la sociedad y del mundo en general. No se debería tener el mezquino sentimiento de que sólo la propia familia
debería ser feliz, porque sin el mundo ¿ dónde queda la familia ? El hombre y su familia dependen de la sociedad y del mundo en general. Por lo tanto, el individuo y la familia sólo pueden ser felices cuando el mundo está bien y a salvo. (Divino Discurso, 14 Abril 1999).

 

The eyes, the ears, the nose and the hands are the different limbs of the body. Body is a limb of the society. Society is a limb of mankind. Mankind is a limb of nature. Nature is a limb of God. It is because of the impact of modern education that man is misusing his limbs. The Vedas teach that all the education that one acquires should be utilised for the welfare of society. The Vedas say, Sarvaloka hite ratah (one should involve in the service of society). Sarvajnanopa sampannah (one should be a treasure of wisdom), and Sarva samudita gunaihi (one should cultivate all good qualities). After education, one should work for the welfare of society and the world at large. One should not have the narrow feeling that one’s family alone should be happy. Without the world, where is the family? Man and his family are dependent on society and the world at large. So, the individual and the family can be happy only when the world is safe and
secure. (Divine Discourse, Apr 14, 1999)

En este viaje de vida, lo primero y más importante que necesitas es tener confianza en ti mismo. Hoy la gente sufre por la carencia de esta autoconfianza. Puede ser que encuentres algunas dificultades en tu camino, pero no te perturbes indebidamente por eso, y afronta todas las pruebas con coraje y convicción. Sólo entonces alcanzarás la verdadera felicidad. Si tienes total fe en Dios podrás superar todas las dificultades. Nunca culpes a Dios por tus problemas, ya que estás enfrentando las consecuencias de tus acciones, tanto buenas como malas, pero si ganas la Gracia de Dios, incluso las circunstancias adversas devendrán favorables para ti. De manera que debes desarrollar más y más fe en Dios. Tú confías en tu amigo a quien conociste hace sólo unos pocos años, ¡pero no confías en Dios que está contigo, en ti, y a tu alrededor, durante
toda tu vida ! ¿ Por qué, entonces, te es difícil tener fe firme y confiar en la omnipresente, omnipotente , omnisciente y toda-poderosa Divinidad ? (Divino Discurso, 14 Febrero 1999)

 

In this journey of life, first and foremost, you need to have self-confidence. Today people suffer because of lack of self-confidence. There may be a few difficulties in your way, but do not be unduly perturbed. You should face all hardships with courage and conviction. Only then you will attain true happiness. If you have total faith in God, you will be able to overcome all difficulties. Never blame God for your difficulties. You are bound to face the consequences of your actions, whether good or bad! But if you earn God’s grace, even difficult circumstances will yield good. So develop faith in God more and more. You trust your friend whom you met only a few years ago, but not God who is with you, in you, and around you, throughout your life !. Why then is it hard for you to have firm faith and trust in the omnipresent, omnipotent, and omniscient all-powerful Divinity? (Divine Discourse, Feb 14, 1999)

En los tiempos actuales, la ansiedad y el temor se están propagando entre las personas, mientras que la rectitud («Dharma») está retrocediendo. El mundo podrá recuperar la paz y la armonía sólo cuando la gente se persuada de practicar los ideales establecidos en las Escrituras («Vedas»), que sirven como faros de luz para guiar a la humanidad rectamente. Todas las actividades de tu diario vivir («Karma») realmente hablan de la práctica del «Dharma». Los «Upanishads» nos guían sobre lo que debe hacerse y lo que debe evitarse en el viaje de la vida. Para que uno se involucre en buenas actividades, el pre-requisito esencial es la sabiduría espiritual. Esta nos lleva a reverenciar a la madre como a Dios, al padre como a Dios, al preceptor como a Dios, y también al huésped como a Dios. También nos avisa que la verdad y la rectitud no deben ser descuidadas, y habiendo
instrucciones positivas y negativas, sigue estos consejos de las Escrituras, no los otros. Acepta todo lo que te conduzca a tu progreso hacia el bien, y evita lo demás.

In the present times, anxiety and fear are spreading amongst people and righteousness (dharma) is receiving a setback. The world can win back peace and harmony only when people are persuaded to practice the ideals laid down in the scriptures (Vedas) which serve as beacon-lights to guide mankind aright. All activities in your daily living (karma) are really speaking the practice of dharma. The Upanishads give us guidance on what must be done and what must be avoided in the journey of life. For involving oneself in good activities, spiritual wisdom is an essential pre-requisite. They direct us to revere the mother as God, father as God, preceptor as God, and also the guest as God. They also warn us that truth and righteousness should not be neglected. So there are both positive and negative instructions — follow these counsels, not others. Accept whatever conduces to your progress in goodness; avoid the others. (Sathya Sai Vahini, Ch
