Si invitamos a alguna gran persona, tal como un santo o un erudito, a nuestra casa, tendremos que hacer algunas preparaciones para dejarla presentable. Antes de que llegue el invitado debemos limpiar la casa y sus alrededores. De la misma manera, si invitamos a un ministro o gobernador a nuestro pueblo, limpiaremos el camino, decoraremos el sendero y mantendremos todo listo y preparado para recibir al eminente visitante. Si nos tomamos tantas molestias y precauciones cuando invitamos a alguien que sólo ostenta una posición temporaria, ¡cuánto más limpio deberíamos tener nuestro corazón al invitar a entrar en él al mismo Creador y Protector del Mundo en persona ! Sólo cuando purifiquemos nuestro corazón Dios podrá habitarlo. Krishna le dijo a Arjuna: » Me estás tomando como el auriga de tu carroza. Tómame como el auriga de tu vida. Piensa cuán limpio y
grandioso debería ser tu corazón para convertirlo en Mi sitial si Yo me convirtiera en el auriga de tu corazón «. (Divino Discurso, Septiembre 12 1984)

 

If we invite some great person, such as a saint or a learned one to our house, some preparations will have to be made at home, to make it presentable. We have to clean the house and the surroundings before the guest arrives. In the same way, if we invite a minister or governor to our village, we would clean the road, decorate the path and keep everything fit and proper for receiving the eminent visitor. If we take so much care and precaution when we invite a person who has only a temporary position, how much more clean should we keep our heart when we invite the very Creator and Protector of the world Himself to enter! It is only when we purify our heart that God will be able to enter it. Krishna said to Arjuna, “You are taking Me as the charioteer of your chariot. Take Me as the charioteer of your life. Think how clean and how grand your heart should be to make it a seat for Me if I become the charioteer of your heart.”

El Señor te ha provisto de un cuerpo, y por tal razón cada miembro y cada sentido es digno de una reverente atención. Cada uno de ellos debe ser usado para Su Gloria. El oído tiene que regocijarse cuando tenga la oportunidad de oír las maravillosas historias de Dios. La lengua debe deleitarse cuando pueda alabarLo, porque de lo contrario tu lengua será tan ineficaz como ranas que croan noche y día, sentadas sobre una ribera fangosa. El cuerpo humano te ha sido dado para un grandioso propósito: tomar conciencia del Señor en tu interior. Si tuvieses un auto bien equipado y en buenas condiciones de uso ¿ lo tendrías guardado en la cochera ? El auto es principalmente para hacer viajes, así que súbete a él y parte. Sólo entonces valdrá la pena poseerlo, y lo mismo es con el cuerpo. Procede y ponte en marcha hacia la meta, aprendiendo a usar
las facultades del cuerpo, los sentidos, el intelecto y la mente para alcanzar el objetivo. (Divino Discurso, 18 Febrero 1966).

 

The Lord has endowed you with body, and so every limb and every sense is worthy of reverent attention. Each must be used for His Glory. The ear must exult when it gets a chance to hear the wonderful tales of God. The tongue must relish when it can praise Him. Or else, your tongue is as ineffective as frogs which croak day and night, sitting on the marshy bank. The human body has been given to you for a grand purpose – realising the Lord within. If you have a fully equipped car in good running condition, would you keep it in the garage? The car is primarily for going on a journey – get into it and go. Only then is it worthwhile to own it. So too with the body. Proceed, go forward to the goal. Learn how to use the faculties of the body, the senses, the intellect, and the mind for achieving the goal and march on. Debes vivir con el constante pensamiento de Dios lo mismo que con otra realidad: la muerte. El cuerpo es el auto en el que estás viajando velozmente a tu destino. Si no eres cuidadoso al conducir, puedes encontrar la muerte en un accidente ¡ que podría causar un camión ! Por tanto, nunca olvides estas dos realidades: 1) La muerte es un acontecimiento seguro en el viaje de la vida. 2) Tu tiempo se va acabando con cada momento que pasa. Cuando recuerdes estas dos cosas, nunca sentirás la tentación de perder el tiempo en charlas ociosas o en búsquedas vanas, en chismes licenciosos o en vulgares entretenimientos. Viaja con cuidado en el auto, sin apuro, con la debida consideración a las necesidades de los demás en el camino. No trates con vehemencia de superar a otros o competir en velocidad. ¡Ten presente las limitaciones de tu vehículo y de la ruta ! De esta forma no
tendrás ningún accidente, ¡y tu viaje habrá sido una feliz experiencia para ti lo mismo que para los demás a tu alrededor ! (Divino Discurso, 26 Oct. 1963)

 

You must live in the constant thought of God as well as another fact – death. The body is the car in which you are riding fast to your destination. If you are not careful with your driving, you may encounter death in an accident – some lorry can cause it! Hence, never forget these two facts: (1) Death is a sure event in the journey of life (2) Your time is running out with every passing moment. When you remember these, you will never be tempted to waste time in idle talk or vain pursuits or wanton mischief or vulgar entertainment. Travel in the car carefully, slowly, with due regard to others needs on the road. Do not greedily try to overtake others or compete in speed; know the limitations of your vehicle and the road! Then you will not meet with any accident. Your journey will be a happy experience for you as well as for everyone around you! (Divine Discourse, Oct 26, 1963)
