Den la bienvenida a todos los golpes del destino, infortunios y miserias, así como el oro da la bienvenida al crisol, martillo y yunque, con el objeto de convertirse en una joya. Tal como la caña recibe de buena manera la picadora, prensa, caldero, bandeja, rociador y secador, de manera que su dulzura sea preservada y utilizada como azúcar por todos. Los Pandavas nunca objetaron cuando los desastres les cayeron pesadamente. Aceptaron las dificultades como oportunidades para recordar a Krishna y orar fervientemente. Welcome all blows of fate, misfortunes and miseries as gold welcomes the crucible, hammer and anvil, in order to become a jewel. Like the cane, welcome the chopper, crusher, boiler, pan, sprayer and dryer, so that its sweetness is preserved and used as sugar by all. The Pandavas never demurred when disasters fell thick upon them. They accepted troubles as opportunities to remember Krishna and prayed fervently. God will foster you from within you, just as He saved and fostered so many saints who placed faith in Him.

El árbol de la Vida tiene que ser regado en sus raíces; pero ahora, aquellos que planean elevar su estándar de vida riegan las ramas, las hojas y las flores. Las raíces son las virtudes; tienen que ser cuidadas para que las flores de las acciones, palabras y pensamientos puedan abrirse y dar el fruto del seva (servicio), lleno del dulce jugo de la dicha (ananda). Hacer planes con respecto a la comida, la ropa y el techo es solo promover el bienestar del carruaje; hagan planes también para el caballo: la mente del hombre, que tiene que usar la comida, la ropa, el techo y otros instrumentos materiales para el elevado propósito de «escapar desde el ego hacia lo universal». Cada uno de ustedes es fundamentalmente divino; en consecuencia, cuanto más manifiesten los divinos atributos de Amor, Justicia, Verdad y Paz, más dicha podrán disfrutar e impartir. Deben avergonzarse cuando
manifiestan cualidades animales, porque están viviendo en contra de su potencial y su herencia. (Divino Discurso, 3 de agosto de 1966)

 

The tree of Life has to be watered at the roots, but now, those who plan to raise the standard of living, water the branches, the leaves and the blossoms. The roots are the virtues; they have to be fostered so that the flowers of actions, words and thoughts may bloom in fragrance and yield the fruit of seva (service), full of the sweet juice of bliss (ananda). Planning for food, clothing and shelter is only promoting the well-being of the cart; plan also for the horse, the mind of man which has to use the food, the clothing, the shelter and other material instruments for the high purpose of ‘escaping from the ego into the universal’. Each one of you is fundamentally Divine, and so, naturally, the more you manifest the Divine attributes of Love, Justice, Truth and Peace, the more bliss you will be able to enjoy and impart. You must be ashamed when you manifest animal qualities, for you are living against your potential and heritage. – Divine

Las epopeyas enseñan el camino de la devoción y la entrega. Solicitan que realicemos cada acción con espíritu de dedicación. Permitan que el viento de la duda y el sol de la desesperación afecten la vasija de Ananda (bienaventuranza) que han llenado, y el contenido se evaporará rápidamente. Pero mantengan la vasija en las frescas aguas de la buena compañía y las buenas acciones; será preservado por siempre sin mengua. Ananda también crece, cuando ustedes permanecen en ella, en silencio y recapitulando las circunstancias que la produjeron. Es por eso que manana, o la reflexión interior, es parte tan importante del esfuerzo espiritual. Como el niño que arroja sus juguetes y rompe a llorar, deben darse cuenta de la insignificancia de los juguetes de la fama y la fortuna, y deben llamar a la Madre. El niño percibe que todo lo demás es basura,
ante el amor de la Madre y la dicha de su presencia. No deben aspirar a nada que sea menor. (Discurso Divino, 2 de julio de 1966)

 

The epics teach the path of devotion and surrender. They ask that one should do every deed in a spirit of dedication. Allow the wind of doubt or the sun of despair to affect the pot of Ananda (bliss) you have filled, and it will evaporate quickly. But keep the pot in the cool waters of good company and good deeds; it can be preserved undiminished for ever. Ananda too grows when you dwell on it in silence and recapitulate the circumstances which yielded it. That is why manana or inner reflection is such an important part of spiritual effort. Like the child which throws off its toys and starts crying, you too must realise the paltriness of the toys of fame and fortune, and call out for the Mother. The child feels that all else is trash before the love of the Mother and the blessedness of Her presence. One should not aspire for anything less. – Divine Discourse, Jul 02, 1966

Nuestra conducta es la única responsable de todos nuestros problemas y dificultades. Si nuestras acciones son buenas, los resultados serán buenos. Las malas acciones conducen a malas consecuencias. La gente piensa que bueno y malo están relacionados con la hora del día. No, en absoluto. Solo los pensamientos de ustedes son la causa fundamental. Por lo tanto, deben cultivar buenos pensamientos y realizar buenas acciones. Deben abrigar buenos sentimientos y relacionarse con buenas personas. Cada uno de ustedes debe darse cuenta de lo precioso que es el tiempo. Hoy, muchos de ustedes desperdician mucho del tiempo disponible. Esto es un craso error. El tiempo debe ser usado siempre para propósitos correctos. Este es el principal deber de cada individuo. Desperdiciar el tiempo es desperdiciar la vida. El Señor del tiempo protege a quienes se refugian en Él, incluso contra el Señor de la muerte, Kala.
De hecho, la prosperidad de la nación depende de que la gente utilice el tiempo para la realización de buenas acciones. (Divino Discurso, 7 de abril de 1997)

 

For all our troubles and difficulties our conduct alone is responsible. If our actions are good the results will be good. Bad actions will lead to bad consequences. People think that good and bad are related to bad time. Not at all! Your thoughts alone are the root-cause. Hence, you should develop good thoughts and do good deeds. You should cherish good feelings and associate with good persons. Every one of you must also realise the preciousness of time. Today, most of you waste a lot of your available time. This is utterly wrong. Time should be used always for the right purposes. That is the foremost duty of every individual. Waste of time is a waste of life. The Lord of time protects those who take refuge in Him, even against the Lord of death, Kala. In fact, the nation’s prosperity is dependent on how people make use of their time in the performance of good actions! – Divine Discourse, Apr 7, 1997
