La fe y la devoción son los prerrequisitos para la paz. Tengan fe en el océano, no en la ola; crean en el Señor, no en las pequeñas cosas. La tragedia consiste en que depositan su confianza en hombres insignificantes y malvados, en aquellos que saben que son viciosos y codiciosos. Sin embargo, dudan cuando se les pide que depositen su fe en el Señor, quien es más misericordioso que cualquier padre, más amoroso que cualquier madre, más poderoso que cualquier autoridad terrenal y más considerado que cualquier pariente. Ustedes no dudan unos de otros, pero desarrollan dudas con respecto a Dios. La duda es fácil y la fe es difícil. Moren en el Nombre Divino y su dulzura saturará su lengua y mejorará su gusto. No cuenten el número de veces que lo han repetido. Porque, ¿a quién van a impresionar con ese número? El Señor
responderá incluso si lo llaman una sola vez desde las profundidades de su ser. Discurso Divino del 17 de diciembre de 1964.

 

Faith and devotion are the prerequisites for peace. Have faith in the ocean, not the wave; believe in the Lord, not in little things. But the tragedy is, you put your trust in little people, in wicked people, in those who you know are vicious and greedy; but you hesitate when asked to put your faith in the Lord, who is more merciful than any father, more loving than any mother, more powerful than any earthly authority, and more considerate than any kinsman. You do not doubt each other; but, you develop doubt regarding God. Doubt is easy, faith is difficult. Dwell on the Divine Name and its sweetness will saturate your tongue and improve your taste. Do not count the number of times you have repeated it. For, whom are you going to impress with the number? The Lord will respond even if you call Him just once from the depths of feeling. La peor acción que pueden realizar es hacer lo contrario de lo que predican: negar con la mano lo que dicen con su boca. Si no pueden estar a la altura de lo que dicen, quédense callados; no vayan por ahí aconsejando porque si no, por el contrario, lo que realmente estarán haciendo es auto-promocionar que son hipócritas. No prediquen el Dharma (virtud) mientras lo niegan con sus acciones. El Dharma es permanente, inmutable; nunca puede declinar. Lo que sucede es que, en aquellos que practican el Dharma, declina su fe y constancia. Cada individuo es juzgado por la práctica, no por los preceptos que expresa. La semilla crece lentamente y se convierte en un inmenso y frondoso árbol; así también, mediante pequeños actos, palabras suaves y acciones bondadosas, ¡el hombre se eleva a sí mismo hasta convertirse en un Ser Divino! The worst action you can perform is to do the opposite of what you preach – to deny by the hand what you dole out of your mouth. If you cannot live up to your declarations, keep quiet; do not go about advising because otherwise what you are really doing is that you are self-advertising that you are a hypocrite. Do not preach dharma (virtue) while decrying it in deed. Dharma is steady, unchanging; it can never decline. What happens is: those who have to practise dharma decline in faith and steadfastness. Every individual is judged by practice, not by the precepts that they pour forth. The seed grows slowly into a huge spreading tree; so, too, through tiny acts, soft words and kind deeds, man elevates himself into a Divine Being! (Divine Discourse, Mar 31, 1965)

De entre todos los seres vivientes, el nacimiento humano es el más raro. No desperdicien tan preciada y rara oportunidad. Perderán su humanidad cuando se consientan en falsedades, injusticia y maldades. En consecuencia tengan buenos pensamientos, hablen bien y tengan buena visión. Vean lo bueno, y sean buenos. Este es el significado interno de la vida. Supongan que alguien los critica, deberían pensar que esto también es para su bien. Lo que sea que otros hagan, piensen que es todo por su propio bien. Lleven a cabo todas la acciones con la meta de redimir sus vidas. Ocúpense de mirar que no pierdan sus humanidad bajo ninguna circunstancia. Conduzcan sus vidas sonriente y dichosamente. Realicen todas la acciones con buenas intenciones. Para llevar a cabo buenas acciones, sus pensamientos tienen que ser buenos. Cuando su mente está saturada de buenos pensamientos, todos los malos pensamientos

Amongst all living beings, human birth is the rarest. Do not waste such a precious and rare opportunity. You will lose your humanness when you indulge in falsehood, injustice, and unrighteousness. Therefore have good thoughts, good speech and good vision. See good, do good and be good. This is the inner meaning of life. Suppose someone criticises you, you should think that this also is for your good. Whatever others may do, think that it is all for your own good. Perform all actions with the goal of redeeming your life. See to it that you do not lose your humanness under any circumstance. Lead your life always smilingly and blissfully. Perform all actions with good intentions. To perform good actions, your thoughts need to be good. When your mind is filled with good thoughts, all bad thoughts disappear. This leads to good health. Mensaje de la Pizarra de Prashanti Nilayam

Sin importar qué suceda, no se den por vencidos en la senda de la virtud. Cuando Hanuman vio a la Madre Sita en el Ashoka Vana en Lanka, él vio su desolación y desesperación en medio de sus captores, rodeada de ogros. Experimentó una agonía abrumadora al verla, y así le propuso, «Madre, no puedo soportar tu sufrimiento. Te llevaré en mis hombros, saltando a través del mar, y te devolveré al Señor Rama». ¡Pero escuchen la respuesta de la Madre Sita! A pesar del sufrimiento insoportable, ella se resistió a la tentación de escapar del cautiverio y reunirse con su Señor. Se apegó al Dharma y explicó, «Yo no debería, más allá de mi voluntad, tocar otro hombre que mi Señor. Si me llevas ahora, estarías perpetrando la misma acción por la que es condenado Ravana. Desmerecerá la
gloria que le espera a mi Señor, quien definitivamente me librará por la destreza de Su mano». Los resultados finales nunca pueden justificar lo medios. Los medios son tan importantes como la meta; ¡ambos deben ser nobles! Bhagavan Sri Sathya Sai Baba. Divino Discurso del 31 de marzo de 1965.

 

Whatever happens, never give up the virtuous path. When Hanuman saw Mother Sita in the Ashoka Vana at Lanka, he saw her forlorn and helpless in the midst of her captors, surrounded by ogresses. He experienced overpowering agony seeing her, and so proposed to her, «Mother, I cannot bear your suffering. I shall take you on my shoulder, leaping across the sea, and restore you to Lord Rama». But listen to Mother Sita’s response! Despite untenable suffering, she resisted temptation to escape from captivity and reunite with her Lord. She stuck to Dharma and explained, «I should not, out of my own will, touch any male other than my Lord. If you carry me now, you will perform the same act for which Ravana is condemned. It will detract the glory that awaits my Lord, who will certainly liberate me by the prowess of His arm.» End results can never justify the means. Means are just as important as the goal; both must be noble! (Divine Discourse, Mar 31,
