Mensaje de la Pizarra de Prashanti Nilayam

El nombre del Señor tiene mucha eficacia. Al repetir el nombre del Señor, Sus atributos pueden ser fácilmente recordados. Santifiquen su lengua con la repetición de Su nombre. También deben usar expresiones dulces que difundan contento y alegría. Sean muy cuidadosos de sus palabras. Los animales tienen cuernos, los insectos tienen aguijones, las bestias tienen garras y colmillos, pero la mayor arma destructiva que ustedes tienen, es su lengua. Las heridas que inflige su lengua difícilmente puedan ser sanadas; se pudren en el corazón por mucho tiempo. Son capaces de causar más daño que incluso una bomba atómica. Hablen de tal manera que su lenguaje sea tan dulce como sus sentimientos. Que las palabras sean verdaderas y agradables (Satyam bruyat; priyam bruyat). Pero por el bien de complacer a otro, no digan mentiras ni exageren. El cinismo que los lleva a hablar sobre una cosa
de manera burlona para desacreditarla, es tan malo como la adulación que los lleva a exagerar y a cruzar los límites de la verdad. (Discurso Divino del 29 de julio de 1964)

 

The Lord’s name has much efficacy. By repeating the Lord’s name, His attributes can be easily recalled. Sanctify your tongue by the repetition of His name. It must also use sweet expressions which will spread contentment and joy. Be very careful about your speech. Animals have horns, insects have stings, beasts have claws and fangs, but your biggest weapon of offence is your tongue. The wounds that your tongue inflicts can scarcely be healed; they fester in the heart for long. They are capable of more damage than even an atom bomb. Speak so that your language is as sweet as your feelings are. Make the words true and pleasing (Satyam bruyat; priyam bruyat). But for the sake of pleasing another, do not speak falsehood or exaggerate. Cynicism which leads you to speak about a thing in a carping manner to bring it disrepute is as bad as flattery which makes you exaggerate and cross the boundaries of truth. ¡El nombre divino salva y libera! Es la armadura contra los embates del orgullo y la autoconmiseración. Cuando ustedes comienzan la piadosa repetición de un santo nombre o una fórmula sagrada, de manera sistemática, y fijan su ojo interior en la forma que ilustra ese nombre, se enfrentan a muchos obstáculos, pensamientos inquietantes y tentaciones. Estos deben ser ignorados, esquivados y tratados con ligereza. Refuercen sus hábitos, apéguense a su disciplina y mejoren su administración interior. Busquen la compañía de los buenos y los que buscan a Dios. El toro indómito tiene que ser enlazado y amaestrado, su nariz perforada y anillada; tiene que ser sujeto al yugo y entrenado para arrastrar pesadas cargas, convirtiéndose en dócil sirviente de su amo. Algunos condenan a las seis pasiones como acérrimas enemigas, y les aconsejan que se libren de
ellas de inmediato. Sin embargo, Yo les aconsejaría que las conserven como dóciles sirvientes, y las reorienten para que sean útiles a sus nobles propósitos. (Divino Discurso, 21 de noviembre de 1962)

 

The divine name saves and liberates! It is the armour against the onslaughts of pride and self-pity. When you start pious repetition of a holy name or sacred formula in a systematic manner and fix your inner eye on the form that illustrates the name, you will meet with many obstacles, disquieting thoughts, and enticements. They should be ignored, bypassed and treated lightly. Strengthen your habits, stick to your discipline, and improve your inner administration. Mix more in the company of the good and the godly. The unruly bull has to be roped and tamed, its nose bored and ringed; it has to be yoked and trained to drag heavy loads and become the docile servant of its master. Some people condemn the six passions as dire enemies and advise you to eject them outright. But I would advise you to keep them with you as docile servants, and redirect them to be useful for your noble purposes. (Divine Discourse, Nov 21, 1962)

Podrán brindar Ananda (bienaventuranza) mediante su palabra, solo cuando ustedes mismos hayan alcanzado el estado de Ananda. Una lámpara encendida bajo una vasija con cinco agujeros: este es el símbolo de una persona que tiene la llama de la sabiduría brillando a través de los cinco sentidos. Cubran la vasija con una tela gruesa, y no emergerá ninguna luz. La tela es la cubierta de ajnana (la ignorancia), de tamas (la indolencia y la estupidez). Elíminen la tela, y la luz brillará débilmente a través de los sentidos; este es el símbolo de rajas (la pasión y la actividad). Eliminen la vasija misma, es decir, eliminen la identificación con el cuerpo (el dehatma-buddhi); entonces, la Atmajyoti (la luz del Uno Mismo) brillará plena y resplandeciente. La luz divina, o bienaventuranza divina, estuvo siempre allí, pero obstruida por la vasija y la tela.
Ananda es el carácter nativo de ustedes, su verdadera estampa, su realidad misma. (Divino Discurso, 29 de julio de 1964)

 

You can give Ananda (bliss) by your speech, only if you have attained the state of Ananda yourself. A lamp burning under a pot with five holes: that is the symbol of a person who has the flame of wisdom shining through the five senses. Cover the pot with a thick cloth and no light emerges. The cloth is the cover of ajnana (ignorance), of tamas (slothfulness and dullness). Remove it; it shines feebly through the senses – that is the symbol of rajas (passion and activity). Remove the pot itself, that is to say, remove the identification with the body (the dehatma-buddhi), then the Atmajyoti (light of the Self) shines full and bright. The Divine light or Divine Bliss is ever there but, it was obstructed by the pot and the cloth. Ananda is your native character, your real stamp, your very reality. (Divine Discourse, Jul 29, 1964)

No se quejen de que el Señor los esté probando y haciendo que atraviesen la penosa experiencia de soportar exámenes, pues solo cuando son examinados pueden asegurarse el triunfo, o percatarse de sus limitaciones. Así pueden concentrarse en las asignaturas en que son deficientes, prestando una atención más intensiva, para poder aprobar en ellas cuando sean examinados de nuevo. No estudien a último momento para el examen; estudien con mucha anticipación y estén listos, con el conocimiento necesario, y el valor y la confianza que nacen de ese conocimiento y esa pericia. Lo que hayan estudiado con mucha anticipación debe ser repasado mentalmente una y otra vez, poco antes del examen; eso es todo lo que ser requiere. Con toda seguridad, emergerán victoriosos; este es el camino a la victoria. (Discurso de Shivaratri, marzo de 1963)

 

Do not grieve that the Lord is testing you and putting you through the ordeal of undergoing tests, for it is only when you are tested that you can assure yourself of success or become aware of your limitations. You can then concentrate on the subjects in which you are deficient and pay more intensive attention, so that you can pass in them too when you are tested again. Don’t study for the examination at the last moment; study well in advance and be ready with the needed knowledge and the courage and confidence born out of that knowledge and skill. What you have studied well in advance must be rehearsed over and over in the mind, just previous to the examination; that is all that needs to be done. You will certainly emerge victorious – this is the pathway to victory. (Shivaratri Discourse, March 1963)
