Mensaje de la Pizarra de Prashanti Nilayam

La naturaleza de la mente es pura. Las impresiones sensoriales la colorean y la ensucian con gustos y aversiones. La mente del animal no se ve afectada por los muchos apegos y atracciones, aversiones y repulsiones que obstaculizan y atormentan a la mente humana. Las impresiones latentes (vasanas) deforman la mente que ya está desviada por los golpes y embates sufridos nacimiento tras nacimiento.De nada sirve echarle toda la culpa a la mente. Es un mero vigilante. Recálquen al vigilante que el Señor es el amo de ustedes, entonces él obedecerá no sólo al Señor, que es su amo, sino incluso a los amigos y compañeros del Señor. Únanse al satsang y vean si la mente sigue siendo obstinada. Ya no los desobedecerá. Todo es cuestión de entrenamiento: si el vigilante llega a saber que ustedes no tienen relación con el Señor, ¡él los desobedecerá
y los llevará a sus propias desventuras! Si están del lado del Señor, ¡el vigilante se convierte en su ayudante! Discurso Divino del 24 de octubre de 1961.

 

The nature of mind is pure. Sensory impressions colour and soil it with likes and dislikes. The mind of the animal is unaffected by the many attachments and attractions, aversions and dislikes that hamper and haunt the human mind. The latent impressions (vasanas) warp the mind that is already bent by blows and buffetings suffered, birth after birth. There is no use laying all the blame on the mind. It is a mere watchman. Impress upon the watchman that the Lord is your master, then it will obey not only the Lord who is your master but even the Lord’s friends and companions. Join satsang and see whether the mind continues to be stubborn. It will not disobey you then. It is all about training; if the watchman comes to know that you are unrelated to the Lord, he will disobey you and take to his own misadventures! If you are on the Lord’s side, the watchman becomes your aide! (Divine Discourse, Oct 24, 1961)

Muchos se lamentan de esta manera: “Se dice que tener la oportunidad de ver a una persona santa (darshanam) es la destrucción del pecado (papa nashanam). Pero he tenido darshan no una sola vez sino muchas veces y, sin embargo, mi destino nefasto no me ha abandonado y estoy sufriendo incluso más que antes». Es cierto, pueden haber venido y tenido darshan, y al hacerlo, han sembrado semillas nuevas aseguradas desde entonces en adelante: semillas de amor, fe, devoción, buena compañía, pensamientos Divinos, el recuerdo de Su nombre y demás; y han aprendido el arte del cultivo intensivo y de la preparación de la tierra. Así que ahora han sembrado las semillas en el campo bien preparado de corazones limpios. ¿No tienen que esperar a la cosecha? Hasta que llega la nueva cosecha, al igual que consumen el grano ya almacenado de cosechas anteriores, los problemas y ansiedades son los cultivos
recolectados en cosechas anteriores. Por eso no se aflijan ni desanimen. ¡Persistan en su sadhana! Discurso Divino de Shivaratri en marzo de 1963.

 

Many grieve: “It is said that getting the opportunity to see a holy person (darshanam) is destruction of sin (papa nashanam). Well, I have had darshan not once but many times, and yet my evil fate has not left me and I am suffering even more than I did before.” True, you may have come and had darshan, and you have sown fresh seeds secured from then onwards – seeds of love, faith, devotion, good company, Godly thoughts, remembering God’s name and so on, and you have learnt the art of intensive cultivation and soil preparation. So you have now sown the seeds in a well-prepared field of cleansed hearts. Don’t you have to wait for the harvest? Until the new harvest comes in, like you consume the grain already stored from previous harvests, the troubles and anxieties are the crops you collected in previous harvests! Hence do not grieve and lose your heart. Persist in your sadhana! (Shivaratri Discourse, March 1963)

Mensaje de la Pizarra de Prashanti Nilayam

Para recorrer el sendero de la devoción, uno no necesita erudición, ni riquezas o bienes, ni rigores ascéticos. Díganme, ¿cuál era el linaje de Valmiki, la riqueza de Kuchela, la erudición de Sabari, la edad de Prahlada, la condición de Gajaraja y los logros de Vidura? Amor puro (Prema): eso era todo lo que tenían y eso era todo lo que precisaban. La gracia del Señor es como el océano: vasta e ilimitada. Por medio de sus disciplinas espirituales, su repetición de un nombre de Dios, la meditación y el cultivo sistemático de la virtud, esta gracia es convertida en nubes de verdad. Estas nubes se derraman sobre la humanidad como lluvia de prema, que se acumula y fluye como corriente de bienaventuranza (ananda) de regreso al océano de la gracia del Señor. Cuando prema abraza a la humanidad, lo llamamos compasión, la cualidad no de
lástima sino de simpatía, simpatía que nos hace felices cuando los demás son felices y miserables cuando los demás son infelices. Discurso Divino del 24 de marzo de 1958.

 

For treading the path of devotion, one needs no scholarship, nor wealth nor riches, nor ascetic rigours. Tell Me, what was the lineage of Valmiki, the wealth of Kuchela, the scholarship of Sabari, the age of Prahlada, the status of Gajaraja, and the attainments of Vidura? Pure Love (Prema) — that was all they had, and that was all they needed. The grace of the Lord is as the ocean – vast and limitless. By your spiritual disciplines, your repetition of a name of God, meditation, and systematic cultivation of virtue, this grace is converted into clouds of truth. This cloud rains on humanity as showers of prema, which collect and flow as the flood of bliss (ananda) back again into the ocean of the Lord’s grace. When prema embraces humanity, we call it compassion, the quality not of pity but of sympathy — sympathy that makes one happy when others are happy and miserable when others are unhappy. Pídanle al Señor que elimine sus problemas terrenales; no hay error en eso. Es mucho mejor que pedírselo a otros hombres o mujeres, y perder el respeto propio y el honor. Para obtener votos, las personas se agarran de los pies de cualquiera; pero si caen a los pies del Señor, eso les traerá más votos porque la gente le rogará al Señor, ser conducida por un servidor Suyo. Pueden llamarme por teléfono, pero no estaré disponible para todos aquellos que no tienen el sincero y firme anhelo por el Señor. A aquellos que dicen: «¡No! Tú no eres mi Señor», yo digo: «No». A aquellos que dicen: «Sí», yo hago eco y también respondo: «Sí». Si estoy disponible en sus corazones, estaré disponible por teléfono. Pero, recuerden, tengo mis propios y especiales sistemas postales y telefónicos. Operan directamente de corazón a
corazón. Existen reglas y regulaciones declaradas en las escrituras para el funcionamiento correcto de esos sistemas. Ustedes pueden encontrarlas allí. Discurso Divino del 29 de julio de 1964.

 

Ask the Lord for the removal of your earthly troubles; there is no mistake in that. It is much better than asking other men or women, and losing self-respect and honour. For the sake of votes, people catch hold of the feet of all and sundry; if they fall at the feet of the Lord, that will bring them more votes, for the people will plead with Him to be led by a servant of the Lord. You can call Me on the phone, but I will not be available for all those who do not have the sincere and steady yearning for the Lord. For those who say «No! You are not my Lord,» I say «No.» For those who say, «Yes,» I too echo «Yes.» If I am available in your heart, I will be available over the phone. But remember, I have My own special postal and telephone systems. They operate from the heart, straight to the heart. There are rules and regulations for the operation of that system, which the scriptures declare. You can find them there. (Divine Discourse, Jul 29, 1964)
