¿De qué sirve el estudio de los Upanishads y del Gita, si no hay una transformación en sus pensamientos o modo de vida? Tiene que haber un impulso por cambiar, y progresar hacia un estado de conciencia más elevado. Sólo así podemos comprender, hasta cierto punto, la relación entre el Universo fenoménico y la Divinidad. Deben examinar adónde los están conduciendo sus prácticas espirituales. Tienen que avanzar desde lo puramente mental hacia la etapa más elevada de todas, la de la Mente Suprema, y experimentar la unidad con la Conciencia Universal. Puede que consideren esto extremadamente difícil. Pero si tienen dedicación y perseverancia, es muy fácil. No hay nada en el mundo más fácil que el camino espiritual. Pero en ausencia de un esfuerzo serio, parece muy difícil. Por eso, el Gita ha declarado: «Shraddavan labhate
Jnanam» (A la Sabiduría Suprema la gana el aspirante que hace un esfuerzo serio). Si están profundamente interesados en cualquier cosa, la lograrán. (Divino Discurso, 16 de febrero de 1988)

 

Of what avail is the study of the Upanishads and the Gita, if there is no transformation in our thoughts or way of life? There must be the urge to change and progress towards a higher state of consciousness. It is only then we can grasp, to some extent, the relationship between the phenomenal Universe and the Divine. You must examine where your spiritual practices are leading you to. You have to proceed from the purely mental stage to the highest stage of the Over-mind and experience oneness with the Universal Consciousness. You may regard this as extremely difficult. But if you have dedication and perseverance, it is quite easy. There is nothing in the world easier than the spiritual path. But when there is no earnestness, it appears difficult. That is why The Gita has declared: «Shraddhavan labhate Jnanam» (The earnest aspirant acquires the Supreme Wisdom). If you are deeply interested in anything, you will accomplish it. Ustedes han sido dotados de enormes, inconmensurables talentos, habilidades y poderes. Pero a todos ellos los están usando para viajar a un pobre satélite de la Tierra, en lugar de usarlos para viajar hacia la tierra maravillosa de sus propios reinos interiores, donde pueden estar cara a cara con Dios, que es su propia realidad interior, más aún, la realidad interior de todo este mundo fenoménico que tanto admiran. Su cuerpo es un barco, un instrumento para atravesar el mar del cambio, que se han ganado por mérito durante muchas generaciones. Cuando hayan atravesado el mar percibirán al morador en la morada. Ese es el propósito del cuerpo. Por lo tanto, mientras el cuerpo sea aún fuerte y hábil, mientras el intelecto sea agudo y la mente muy alerta, deben hacer todos los esfuerzos necesarios por buscar al Morador (Dehi) de su propio cuerpo (Deha). You have been endowed with enormous immeasurable talents, skills and powers. But you are using all that to journey towards a poor satellite of the Earth, instead of using it to journey towards the wonderland of your own inner realms; where you can come face to face with God, who is your Inner Reality, the Inner Reality of indeed this entire phenomenal world you so admire. Your body is but a boat, an instrument, for crossing the sea of change, that you have earned through the merit of many generations. When you have crossed the sea, you realise the Dweller in the dwelling. That is the purpose of the body. So even when the body is strong and skilled, even while the intellect is sharp and your mind very alert, you must make every effort to seek the Dweller (Dehi) within your own human body (Deha). Así como las tres aspas de un ventilador deben ser activadas por la corriente para rotar como si fueran una sola, hay tres elementos, el gabinete (legislativo), los funcionarios (ejecutivo) y el pueblo, que deben ser activados por el espíritu de servicio y trabajar alegremente al unísono, para la felicidad de la gente. Ninguno de ellos debe ser molestado por la envidia mutua, la codicia, el odio ni la malicia; deben ser activados por el amor y la simpatía. El lubricante que se requiere es Sahana (el autodominio). Ni siquiera entre los miembros de un hogar hay amor o simpatía. El Kali yuga se ha convertido en el Kalaha yuga: la era de las riñas y las guerras. Aún mientras los enemigos están rodeando este país, hay un odio salvaje entre un estado y otro, reclamando «este pedazo de tierra es mío», «aquel pedazo de tierra no puede ser tuyo», olvidando que ambos
son miembros del mismo cuerpo. El destino de las naciones es similar. La integración de los corazones sólo puede ocurrir mediante el reconocimiento de la unidad de todos, y la renuncia a las búsquedas sensoriales. (Divino Discurso, 3 de agosto de 1966)

 

Like the three blades of a fan which must be activated by the current to rotate like one, the three – the cabinet (legislative), the officers (executive) and the people must be activated by the spirit of service, and work joyfully in unison, for the happiness of the people. The three must not be disturbed by mutual envy, greed, hate or malice; they must be activated by love and sympathy. Sahana (forbearance) is the lubrication needed. There is no love and sympathy even between the members of a household. Kali yuga has become Kalaha yuga, the era of wrangling and wars. Even while foes are surrounding this country, there is wild hate between one state and another, claiming ‘this bit of land is mine’, ‘that bit of land cannot be yours’, forgetting that both are limbs of the same body. Similar is the fate of nations too. Integration of hearts can come about only through the recognition of the oneness of all, and the renunciation of sensory pursuits.
