¿Has oído la historia de la coneja que tomó prestadas de la Madre Tierra cuatro paisas? Ella pensaba que si se mudaba a un nuevo lugar o país estaría libre de la obligación. Así que un día, corrió tan rápido como sus piernas pudieron llevarla y se fue muy lejos del lugar donde tomó la cantidad de la Madre Tierra. Satisfecha con su esfuerzo, se sentó con gran alivio y se dijo: -¡Nadie me va a pedir que pague! Para su gran asombro, justo debajo de donde estaba sentada, desde el suelo, oyó una voz: «La Madre Tierra está justo debajo de tus pies, justo aquí. ¡No puedes escapar de mí, por muy lejos que corras!» De la misma forma, no puedes huir de Mí. Todo lo que pido es buena conducta, buenos hábitos, buenos pensamientos y buena compañía, dondequiera que estés. Utiliza esta oportunidad preciosa para
esforzarte seriamente, más que nunca antes, para alcanzar tu meta. (Discurso Divino, 11 de febrero de 1964).

 

Have you heard the story of the rabbit that borrowed from Mother Earth four paise? She thought that if she moved into a new place or country she would be free from the obligation. So one day, she ran as fast as her legs could carry her and went extremely far away from the place where she took the amount from Mother Earth. Pleased with her endeavor herself, she sat down in great relief and said to herself, “Now no one will ask me to repay!” To her utter dismay, right beneath where she sat, from the ground underneath, she heard a voice, “Mother Earth is right underneath your feet, right here. You cannot escape me, however far you run!” So too, you cannot run away from Me. All I demand is good conduct, good habits, good thoughts and good company, wherever you are. Use this precious opportunity to strive earnestly, more than ever before, to reach your goal. (Divine Discourse, 11 Feb, 1964)

La mente es el viento que nos trae el olor, desagradable o fragante, del mundo. Cuando la mente se vuelve hacia lo desagradable, ustedes se sienten disgustados. Cuando se vuelve hacia lo fragante, se sienten felices. El viento reúne las nubes de los cuatro puntos; de la misma manera su mente trae a su conciencia muchas decepciones. Es también su misma mente la que dispersa las nubes que la oscurecen o la hacen sentir perdida en la noche de la duda. Controlen la mente y permanecerán serenos en todo momento. Este es el secreto de la paz imperturbable – Shanti, y esta es la educación que todos ustedes deben primero asegurarse firmemente. Para obtener esta ecuanimidad, no se necesitan altos títulos, sino un esfuerzo espiritual sistemático (Sadhana). Entonces estarán siempre felices, ya sean pobres o ricos, apreciados o criticados, prósperos o desafortunados. Esa es una armadura sin la cual es tonto
entrar en la arena de la vida. (Discurso Divino, 20 de diciembre de 1958).

 

The mind is the wind that brings to us the smell – foul or fragrant from the world. When the mind turns towards foul, it makes you disgusted. When it turns towards the fragrant, you become happy. The wind gathers the cloud from four quarters; similarly your mind brings into your consciousness many disappointments. It is also the same mind of yours, which scatters away the clouds that darken it or make it feel lost in the night of doubt. Control the mind and you will remain unruffled at all times. This is the secret to undisturbed peace – Shanti, and this is the education that all of you must first secure firmly. To gain this equanimity, you do not need high degrees, but systematic spiritual effort (Sadhana). Then you will be always happy, whether you are poor or rich, appreciated or criticised, prosperous or unlucky. That is an armour without which it is foolish to enter the arena of life. He venido para reformarte. No te dejaré hasta que lo haga. Incluso si te escapas antes de que haga eso, no pienses que puedes escapar de Mí, me aferraré a ti. No estoy preocupado si dejas a Sai, porque no estoy ansioso de que haya una gran reunión aquí y una gran cantidad de seguidores a mi alrededor. ¿Quién los invitó a todos aquí? Sin ninguna invitación impresa, miles están llegando a Sai. Pero estén seguros de una cosa. Ya sea que vengan a Mí o no, todos ustedes son Míos. Esta Sai Mata (Madre de todos) tiene el amor de mil madres hacia Sus hijos; por eso es que hago tanta lalana (caricias) y tanta palana (protección). Si parezco estar enojado, recuerda, es sólo el amor en otra forma, que uso para mostrar mi decepción cuando no te encaminas en línea con mi guía.

I have come to reform you. I will not leave you until I do that. Even if you get away before I do that, do not think you can escape Me, I will hold on to you. I am not worried if you leave Sai, for I am not anxious that there should be a huge gathering here and a big following around Me. Who invited all of you here? Without any printed invitation, thousands are coming to Sai. But, of one thing, be assured. Whether you come to Me or not, you are all Mine. This Sai Mata (Mother of all) has the love of a thousand mothers towards Her children; that is why I do so much lalana (fondling) and so much palana (protecting). If I appear to be angry, remember, it is only love in another form that I use to evince my disappointment when you do not shape up in line with my guidance.
