La ignorancia sólo puede curarse mediante el conocimiento; la oscuridad sólo puede ser destruida por la luz. Ni los mayores argumentos, amenazas o persuasión pueden obligar a la oscuridad a alejarse. ¡Un destello de luz es suficiente para destruir años de oscuridad! La luz ya está en ti. Pero como está sobrecargada por factores represivos, no puede revelarse. ¡Prepárense para ese flash de iluminación! Todos deben lograrlo, ya sea que uno esté luchando por él ahora o no. Es el fin inevitable de las luchas de todos, la meta a la que cada ser, consciente o inconscientemente, se está dirigiendo. No tengan miedo de alcanzar el objetivo de la liberación (Moksha). No conciban esa etapa como una calamidad. La liberación es sin duda el fin de todas las calamidades. Es la muerte de toda pena – la pena de que nacerás de nuevo. Es el nacimiento de la
alegría, ¡una alegría que no conoce la declinación!

Ignorance can be cured only by knowledge; darkness can be destroyed only by light. No amount of argument, threat or persuasion can compel darkness to move away. A flash of light is enough to destroy years of darkness! The light is already there in you. But since it is heavily overladen by repressing factors, it cannot reveal itself. Prepare yourself for that flash of illumination! Everyone must achieve it, whether one is striving for it now or not. It is the inevitable end to everyone’s struggles, the goal to which every being, knowingly or unknowingly is proceeding. Do not be afraid of reaching the goal of liberation (Moksha). Do not conceive that stage as a calamity. Liberation indeed is the end of all calamities. It is death to all grief – grief that you will be born again. It is the birth of joy, a joy that knows no decline!

La devoción (Bhakti) es la forma más alta del Amor. «El servicio a Dios es devoción», dicen las Escrituras. Devoción significa constante contemplación de Dios. El término «Bhakti» es una derivación de la raíz «Bhaj», que significa adoración. La devoción es entonces una amorosa contemplación de Dios, la repetición de Su nombre, Su adoración y el hacer penitencia por Él. El servicio al Señor es la más alta expresión de devoción. No hay nada que no se pueda lograr mediante el amoroso servicio a la Divinidad. La devoción no significa meramente entonar Bhajans o efectuar Puja. Estas formas de devoción están actualmente basadas en una especie de interés y búsqueda egoístas. La verdadera devoción debería ser una expresión de amor surgido de adentro, y no es algo para ser
proclamado o demostrado. La auténtica devoción debe estar libre de egoísmo de cualquier tipo. La devoción exhibicionista terminará decididamente en un desastre. (Divino Discurso, 16 Enero 1988).

 

Devotion (Bhakti) is the highest form of Love. “Service to God is Devotion” say the Scriptures. Devotion means constant contemplation of God. The term Bhakti is derived from the root Bhaj meaning to worship. Devotion means loving contemplation of God, repetition of His Name, worshipping Him and doing penance for Him. Service to the Lord is the highest expression of devotion. There is nothing that is not attainable through loving service to the Divine. Devotion does not mean merely doing bhajans or performing puja. These forms of devotion at present are based on some kind of self-interest and self-seeking. True devotion should be an expression of love from within. Devotion is not something to be proclaimed or demonstrated. True devotion must be free from selfishness of all kinds. Exhibitionistic devotion will definitely result in disaster. (Divine Discourse, Jan 16, 1988)

Tú eres lo sin forma (Nirakara) infinito, tomando la forma de un humano finito (Naraakara). Tú eres lo Absoluto, pretendiendo ser lo Relativo. ¡Tú eres el Ser, pretendiendo ser el cuerpo! El Ser Universal (Atma) es la base de todos los seres. El cielo estaba ahí antes de que se construyeran casas bajo el mismo. ¡El firmamento se adentró en ellas y las permeó! Las casas se desmoronaron y se convirtieron en montículos y apilamientos de restos, ¡pero el cielo no resultó afectado en absoluto! De la misma manera, el Atma permea al cuerpo y subsiste, incluso cuando este es reducido a polvo. La misma inexplicable e invisible corriente eléctrica activa cada una de las bombillas, ventiladores, cocinas, o refrigeradores cuando penetra en ellos individual o colectivamente. Así también el Principio Divino activa a todos los seres (Ishwara Sarva Bhutanam). Esa es la
médula, la Chispa Divina, ¡más pequeña que lo más diminuto, más magnífica que lo más espléndido! (Divino Discurso, 19 Febrero 1964).

 

You are the formless (Nirakara) infinite, taking the form of a finite human (Naraakara). You are the Absolute, pretending to be the Relative; you are the Self, pretending to be the body! The Universal Self (Atma) is the basis for all the beings. The sky was there before houses were built under it; the sky penetrated and pervaded them! The houses crumbled and became heaps and mounds over time, but the sky was not affected at all! So too, the Atma pervades the body and subsists even when the body is reduced to dust. The same inexplicable and invisible electric current when it enters a bulb, a fan, a stove, a cooler or a sprayer, activates each one of them or even all of them together! So too, the Divine Principle activates all beings (Ishwara Sarva Bhutanam). That is the inner core, the Divine Spark, more minute than the minutest, more magnificent than the most magnificent!
