Decir que Dios es la causa fundamental de todo, es verdad hasta cierto punto. Pero ustedes no son arrojados por Él a la jaula de hierro de un destino sin escapatoria. No culpen por su condición al destino ni a las estrellas. Él los ha dotado del discernimiento y el desapego, y también de un sentido de asombro y maravilla; tienen que usarlos para alcanzarlo a Él. Si bien están sujetos, no están totalmente incapacitados. Una vaca, atada mediante una cuerda a un poste, puede caminar alrededor del mismo y pastar en toda la zona alcanzada por la cuerda. Cuando toda la hierba de allí haya sido consumida, ¡tal vez el amo pueda aflojar el nudo y atarla a otro poste! Pasten libremente todo lo que permita la cuerda, pero no se alejen demasiado del poste, tirando de la cuerda, porque podrían lastimarse el cuello. (Discurso Divino, 24 de noviembre de 1961)
To say that God is the prime cause of everything is true to a certain extent, but you are not thrust by Him into an iron cage of destiny from which there is no escape. Do not blame fate or the stars for your condition. He has endowed you with discrimination and detachment, and also with a sense of awe and wonder; you have to use these for attaining Him.
