Hoy el hombre ha tomado muchos caminos para adquirir sabiduría. Todo el conocimiento que uno ha adquirido no es conocimiento verdadero en el sentido estricto del término. El conocimiento del espíritu, conocimiento Átmico, es el verdadero conocimiento. Eso es Brahma Jnana (Conocimiento de la Divinidad). Trabajo, adoración y sabiduría – todos comienzan con el servicio. No importa qué servicio sea, si se hace con amor y sentimientos divinos, se convierte en adoración (upasana). ¿Qué es la sabiduría? Todas las acciones relacionadas con nuestros sentidos, los objetos fugaces del mundo material, hablan de nuestra ignorancia. La sabiduría amanece en el momento en que la mente se retira. El estado ausente de pensamientos entre dos pensamientos consecutivos es Brahma Jnana. Ustedes no pueden experimentar este estado sin pensamientos de Brahman y se dejan llevar por cosas
fugaces, efímeras y momentáneas. La verdadera sabiduría emerge cuando todos los pensamientos son diezmados. La filosofía de Bhagavan requiere que practiquen la unidad en el trabajo, la adoración y la sabiduría. (Discurso Divino, 14 de marzo de 1999).

 

Today man has taken to many paths to acquire wisdom. All the knowledge that one has acquired is not true knowledge in the strict sense of the term. Knowledge of the spirit, Atmic knowledge, is the true knowledge. That is Brahma Jnana (Knowledge of the Divine). Work, worship, and wisdom – all begin with service. No matter what service it is, if it is done with love and divine feelings, it becomes worship (upasana). What is wisdom? All actions related to our senses, the fleeting objects of the material world,speak of our ignorance. Wisdom dawns the moment the mind is withdrawn. The thoughtless state between two consecutive thoughts is Brahma Jnana. You are not able to experience this thoughtless state of Brahman and are carried away by fleeting, ephemeral, and momentary things. True wisdom dawns when all thoughts are decimated. Bhagawan’s philosophy requires you to practice unity in work, worship, and wisdom. (Divine Discourse, Mar 14, 1999)

¡Encarnaciones del amor! Dios no espera que realicen rituales ni estudien las Escrituras. Todo lo que Él desea de ustedes es ocho tipos de «flores». La flor de ahimsa (no violencia) es la primera de las ocho flores que deben ofrecer a Dios. La no violencia significa no causar daño a ninguna criatura viviente en pensamiento, palabra o acción. Los médicos realizan cirugías en los pacientes para curarlos de sus dolencias. Durante la cirugía, los médicos cortan el cuerpo con un cuchillo. No se puede llamar a esto acto de violencia porque beneficia al paciente. Algunas personas argumentan que incluso cortar vegetales es un acto de violencia porque los vegetales y los árboles tienen vida en ellos. Sin duda, los vegetales y los árboles tienen vida, pero no tienen la mente. En consecuencia, no sufren ningún dolor. Los que tienen mente experimentan dolor y placer. Los seres humanos,
los animales, los pájaros y los insectos están dotados de mente, no los árboles y los vegetales. (Discurso Divino, 22 de agosto de 2000).

 

Embodiments of Love! God does not expect you to perform rituals nor study the scriptures. All that He desires from you is eight types of ‘flowers’. The flower of ahimsa (nonviolence) is the first of the eight flowers you should offer to God. Nonviolence means not causing harm to any living creature in thought, word or deed. Doctors perform surgeries on patients to cure them of their ailments. During surgery, doctors cut the body with a knife. You cannot call it an act of violence because it is beneficial to the patient. Some people argue that even cutting vegetables is an act of violence because the vegetables and trees have life in them. No doubt, vegetables and trees have life, but they do not have the mind. Consequently, they do not suffer any pain. One with the mind experiences pain and pleasure. Humans, animals, birds and insects are endowed with the mind, not the trees and vegetables. (Divine Discourse, Aug 22, 2000)

El mundo es una vasta sociedad. Cada individuo en él es parte de esta sociedad, ligado a ella por el amor que atrae a un individuo hacia otro, a ser pariente y amigo. Este amor está ahí, muy profundo en el corazón de cada individuo. Sólo que no se reconoce, se ignora, se duda, se niega y se discute. Es la fuente secreta de toda empatía y servicio; crea el impulso de vivir en y para la sociedad. Es el Amor Universal (Vishwa-Prema) que fluye de una chispa de la Divinidad hacia todas las chispas. Cuando los ojos brillan iluminados por la más alta sabiduría, Jnana, ven todo como Uno. Entonces el individuo se da cuenta que – Sarvam Brahmamayam Jagath (Todo está impregnado por la Divinidad en este mundo aparentemente cambiante y que se transforma). Para experimentar este Uno revelado como presente en todos, en todo momento, deben desarrollar fe y disciplinar su mente. Su mente debe despojarse de
sus fantasías y debilidades; entonces conocerán y experimentarán la Verdad. (Discurso Divino, 4 de febrero de 1973).

 

The world is one vast society. Every individual in it is part of this society, bound to it by the love that draws an individual to another, to be kith and kin. This love is there, deep in the heart of every individual. Only, it is unrecognised, ignored, doubted, denied, and argued away. It is the secret source of all empathy and service; it creates the urge to live in and for society. It is Universal Love (Vishwa-Prema) that flows from one spark of the Divine to all sparks. When the eyes shine illumined by the highest wisdom, Jnana, they see all as One. Then the individual realises – Sarvam Brahmamayam Jagath (All is pervaded by Divinity in this apparently changing and transforming world). To experience this One revealed as present in all, at all times, you must develop faith and discipline your mind. Your mind must shed its fancies and foibles; then you will know and experience the Truth. (Divine Discourse, Feb 4, 1973)

A veces pueden sentirse débiles porque ceden a la ira y al dolor mucho más fácilmente que otros. Les pido que hagan un esfuerzo adicional para superar a ambos. La repetición del Nombre del Señor es el mejor antídoto para esto, y si sólo todos ustedes lo aceptaran, el Señor se precipitaría a su rescate. Nunca odien o sientan envidia hacia nadie. Perdonen las faltas de la otra persona ¡pero traten duramente a las propias! El Nombre del Señor les infundirá la fe de que todo es la Voluntad de Dios y les enseñará que no tienen derecho a regocijarse o a desesperarse. Cuando van a un médico, deben tomar el medicamento prescrito y seguir los consejos e instrucciones. No tiene sentido culpar al médico si son ustedes los que han fallado ¿Cómo puede curarles el médico si no toman el medicamento o se ajustan a las pautas
alimentarias? Hagan lo que digo, sigan Mi consejo, y luego observen el resultado. (Discurso Divino, 2 de agosto de 1958).

 

At times you may feel weak because you yield to anger and sorrow much more easily than others. I ask you to take extra pains to overcome these two. Repetition of the Lord’s Name is the best antidote for this, and if only all of you would take it up, the Lord would rush to your rescue. Never hate or feel envy towards anyone. Pardon the other person’s faults but deal harshly with your own! The Lord’s Name will instill the faith that everything is God’s Will and teach that you have no right to exult or despair. When you go to a doctor, you must take the prescribed medicine and follow the advice and instructions. There is no use blaming the doctor if you default. How can the doctor cure you if you do not take the medicine or stick to the dietary regulations? Do as I say, follow My advice, and then observe the result. (Divine Discourse, Aug 2, 1958)
