Prahlada estaba inmerso en el pensamiento de su bienamado Señor, cuando fue arrojado cuesta abajo, pisoteado por el elefante y torturado por órdenes de su padre. No prestó atención, porque sólo escuchaba a su Señor; sólo necesitaba a su Señor. Las pastoras de vacas perdieron todo apego al mundo y a los sentidos cuando escucharon la flauta de Krishna; anhelaban la sublime fusión espiritual con el Señor infinito. Mediante la purificación de los impulsos, uno llega a la etapa superior donde se capta el misterio de lo Divino – esta es la etapa del reino de la espiritualidad (salokya). Luego, mediante la contemplación de lo Divino, se llega a las etapas de proximidad a la Divinidad (Sameepyam) y la semejanza con la forma de la Divinidad (Sarupyam). Muchos grandes poetas místicos como Jayadeva alcanzaron esta altura y cantaron en ese tenor. Pero si ustedes cantan esa
canción de la misma manera, Krishna no aparecerá. Quiere sinceridad, no imitación. (Discurso Divino, marzo de 1963).

 

Prahlada was immersed in the thought of his beloved Lord, when he was thrown downhill, trampled by the elephant and tortured at the direction of his father. He paid no heed, for he heeded only his Lord; he needed only his Lord. The cowherd maidens lost all attachment to the world and to the senses when they listened to Krishna’s flute; they yearned for the sublime spiritual merger with the infinite Lord. By the purification of impulses, one gets into the higher stage where the mystery of the Divine is grasped — this is the realm-of-spirituality (salokya) stage. Then by contemplation of the Divine, the stages of proximity to Divinity (Sameepyam) and likeness of the form of Divinity (Sarupyam), are won. Many great mystic poets like Jayadeva attained this height and sang in that strain. But if you sing that song in the same way, Krishna will not appear. He wants sincerity, not imitation.
