Comiencen con esta primera lección. No se limiten a vanagloriarse por haber dominado el Bhagavad Gita (parte de las Escrituras), haberlo leído cien veces y haber memorizado todas las estrofas y los comentarios que se han escrito hasta ahora. Entre los millones de personas a quienes se les enseñó el Gita, sólo Arjuna tomó conciencia de que este Universo no es más que una manifestación parcial de Su inconmensurable gloria (Vishwarupa Darshana). ¿Por qué estos grandes eruditos no tuvieron esa experiencia? Darse cuenta de esa realidad sólo es posible para el aspirante que lo merece. Cuando comenzó la enseñanza, Arjuna alcanzó el máximo estado de entrega, y durante el proceso tuvo una insuperable concentración. No es una sorpresa que haya sido bendecido. A menos que ustedes tengan el mismo grado de entrega, el mismo anhelo y la misma
concentración, ¿cómo podría esperarse que obtengan el resultado que logró Arjuna? El camino de la entrega (Saranagathi o Prapatti) que el Gita enseña, no es fácil; requiere dedicación y persistencia. (Divino Discurso, 16 de marzo de 1966)

 

Start with this first lesson. Do not merely boast that you have mastered the Bhagavad Gita (scriptures), read it a hundred times over, and memorised all the slokas and the commentaries written so far. Among all the millions who were taught the Gita, Arjuna alone had the realisation that this Universe is but a partial manifestation of His immeasurable glory (Vishwarupa Darshana)! Why is it that these great scholars had no such experience? Realisation of that reality can come only to the aspirant who deserves it. Arjuna reached the highest stage of surrender when the teaching started and during the process, he had unexcelled concentration. No wonder he was blessed. Unless you have the same degree of surrender, the same yearning and concentration, how can one expect the result that Arjuna attained? The path of surrender (Saranagathi or Prapatti), that the Gita lays down is not easy; it requires dedication and persistence. (Divine Discourse, March 16,
