¡Ahora todos están buscando la comodidad y el placer! Si le dices a alguien que puede comer todo lo que le gusta y la cantidad que quiera, estará encantado; si agregas que, como consecuencia de eso, podría desarrollar alguna enfermedad, te tratará como a un enemigo. Ningún régimen o control es muy popular. Pero la fuerza se deriva sólo del control, la restricción y la regulación. Una persona se vuelve fuerte y capaz de ser resistente sólo si da la bienvenida a las dificultades. Luchen, y obtendrán la fuerza para tener éxito. Busquen la base de lo que se ve en lo que no se ve. El rascacielos tiene una base profunda dentro de la tierra. Este mundo que se ve tiene, como base, a la Divinidad que no se ve (Paramatma); su cuerpo es el vehículo a través del cual pueden buscar, investigar y descubrir esa base. Su cuerpo es el instrumento para hacer el
trabajo (karma); la oración y la meditación (japa y dhyana) purificarán su inteligencia y harán de ella un instrumento para ganar la gracia, y, finalmente, alcanzar la auto-realización. (Divino Discurso, 23 de noviembre de 1964)

 

Everyone is now seeking comfort and pleasure! If you tell someone that they can eat whatever they like and as much as they like, they will be delighted; if you add that they might develop, as a consequence, some illness, they will treat you as an enemy. No regimen or control is popular. But strength is derived only from control, restraint, and regulation. A person becomes tough and capable of endurance only if they welcome hardships. Struggle, and you get the strength to succeed. Seek the basis for the seen in the unseen. The tall skyscraper has a deep base reaching into the earth. This seen world has, as its base, the unseen Divine (Paramatma); your body is the vehicle through which you can search, investigate, and discover that base. Your body is an instrument for doing work (karma); prayer and meditation (japa and dhyana) will purify your intelligence and make it an instrument for winning grace, and ultimately attaining self-realisation.
