Algunos ganan mucho dinero y numerosos títulos universitarios. ¿Existe en esto algún defecto? Muchos piensan que el dinero causa toda clase de cosas malas, y que los títulos son perjudiciales. No, tanto uno como los otros son irreprochables. El agua es pura y dulce, pero cuando se la almacena en una botella de color rojo, parece ser roja, y si está contenida en una botella morada parece morada. ¿De dónde aparecieron los colores? La persona es la botella; lo malo o lo bueno son el reflejo de los atributos personales. Si la persona es rajásica o apasionada, tanto la riqueza como la educación se hacen inútiles. Si la persona es de naturaleza sátvica o noble, sus acciones y su educación también se hacen nobles. Por lo tanto, el corazón debe ser puro. En este contexto, se dice: Chitta suddhi leni Shiva pooja yetiki? que significa «¿De qué sirve
adorar a Shiva (Dios), sin pureza de corazón?». Se dice: Atma suddhi leni acharamadiyela?, es decir, «¿De qué sirven los ritos si no hay pureza en la persona?». Se dice: Patra suddhi leni pakamela?, que significa «¿Cómo cocinar comida pura y deliciosa si los recipientes no están limpios?» (Discurso Divino, 4 de abril de 1992)
People earn much wealth and various degrees, but where is the defect? Many think that wealth causes all evil things, and degrees are detrimental. No, both of them are faultless. Water is pure and sweet, but when stored in a red coloured bottle, water appears to be red and when stored in purple bottle, it appears purple. From where did the colours appear? The individual is the bottle; bad or good is reflection of the individual attributes. If the individual is rajasic or passionate, then the wealth and education become useless. If the individual is of satwic or noble nature, then the actions and education would become noble too. Therefore the heart must be pure. In this context it is said: Chitta suddhi leni Shiva pooja yetiki? – What is the use of worship of Shiva (God) without purity of the heart? Atma sudhdhi leni acharamadiyela? – What is the use of rituals without purity of the individual? Patra sudhdhi leni pakamela? – How can one cook pure and
