El sabio Patanjali define al Yoga como el control (nirodha) de las agitaciones (vrittis) de la mente (chitta). Cuando la mente está en calma, libre de las olas producidas por el viento del deseo, ustedes llegan a ser Yoguis. En el Gita, al Señor Krishna se lo llama Yogeeshwara, porque al ser el Yogui más elevado, Él es el océano, inafectado por las olas que agitan la superficie. Por cierto, el Señor Krishna bailó sobre el capuchón de la serpiente Kaliya, y la obligó a vomitar su veneno. El significado profundo de esto es que Él convirtió en inofensiva a la serpiente venenosa de los deseos sensuales. El Yoga que los capacita a practicar el control de los sentidos, no meramente el control de la respiración, es la mejor manera de alcanzar al Yogeeswhara. Trasciendan la «conciencia múltiple» (anekatwa bhava) y cultiven la «conciencia única» (ekatwa bhava).
Esto terminará con los conflictos, la pena, el dolor y el orgullo. Vean a todos como muchas expresiones del único Señor; como multiples focos de diversos colores y potencias, encendidos por la misma corriente. (Discurso Divino, 10 de mayo de 1969)

 

Sage Patanjali defines Yoga as the control (nirodha) of the agitations (vrittis) of your mind (chitta). When your mind is stilled and is free from waves produced by the wind of desire, then you become a Yogi! Lord Krishna is called Yogeeshwara in the Gita, for, as the highest Yogi He is the ocean that is unaffected by the waves which agitate the surface. Indeed, young Lord Krishna danced on the hood of the serpent Kaliya and forced it to vomit its poison! The inner significance is that He rendered the poisonous snake (sensual desires) harmless! Yoga that enables you to practice sense control and not merely breath control, is the best way to attain the Yogeeshwara. Transcend the ‘many-consciousness’ (anekatwa bhava) and cultivate ‘One Consciousness’ (ekatwa bhava)! That will end strife, grief, pain and pride. See all as many expressions of the One Lord, as manifold bulbs of various colours and wattage lit by the same current.
