La vida es jugar con fuego; ustedes deben obtener calor sin resultar quemados. Deben pelear constantemente la batalla interior para usar sabiamente los sentidos y el intelecto, sin enredarse en sus asechanzas. Deepavali conmemora la victoria de las influencias celestiales sobre las infernales, de la virtud sobre el vicio, simbolizada por la victoria de Krishna sobre Narakasura. La vida en este mundo es un perpetuo conflicto entre los impulsos que arrastran hacia abajo y los que elevan. El Narakasura dentro de ustedes puede ser destruido si la mente permanece constantemente en el Señor, según el relato del Bhagavata. La llama de la sabiduría puede brillar claramente sólo cuando se sojuzga a los seis enemigos interiores que los arrastran hacia abajo: la lujuria, la ira, la codicia, la ilusión, el orgullo y los celos. Life is a game with fire; you must derive warmth without getting burnt. So you must constantly fight the inner battle to use the senses and the intellect wisely to secure liberation rather than get entangled in their wiles. Deepavali commemorates the victory of heavenly over hellish influences, of virtue over vice, as symbolised by the victory of Krishna over Narakasura. Your life in this world is a perpetual struggle with the down-dragging impulses and the raising impulses.The Narakasura within you can be destroyed by the constant dwelling of the mind on the Lord, as the Bhagavata relates. Only when the six foes within (lust, anger, greed, delusion, pride and jealousy), which drag you down are overpowered, the flame of wisdom can shine, clear and bright.
