Ciertos árboles de baniano son tan grandes, y tienen tantos troncos secundarios, que parecen grandes mansiones. Pero su semilla es muy pequeña, como una semilla de mostaza. ¿Es verdad o es una ilusión, que un árbol tan grande está contenido en una semilla tan pequeña? Sabemos que es verdad. La semilla es la forma infinitesimal, y cuando la ponemos en la tierra y la alimentamos, brota, crece y se hace grande. Los frutos, las flores y las hojas, todos provienen de esta diminuta semilla. De la misma manera, en este enorme cuerpo de ustedes hay una semilla infinitesimal llamada Atma. Si la nutren y le permiten crecer y prosperar, ella mostrará la divina forma del Universo. Sin embargo, ¿dónde debemos poner esta semilla, cómo podemos protegerla y promover su crecimiento hasta que llegue a ser un gran árbol? ¿Podemos poner esta semilla en la palma de nuestra mano y
verter agua sobre ella? Una semilla llegará a ser un árbol, sólo si se la siembra en el suelo y se la riega adecuadamente. Aun en ese suelo, si la depositan de modo demasiado profundo o demasiado superficial, ella no se convertirá en un árbol. Si podemos sembrar la semilla del nombre de Dios en el terreno de nuestro corazón, y regarla con el agua del amor, ella brotará y será un buen árbol. Certain banyan trees look so very big, and have many sub-branches and look as if they are a big mansion. But its seed is so very small, like a mustard seed. Is it the truth that such a big tree is contained in such a tiny seed or is it just our illusion? We know it is a truth. The seed is in the infinitesimal form and when we put it in the earth, feed and nourish it, it sprouts, grows and becomes big. The fruit, flowers and the leaves – all come out of this tiny seed. In the same manner, in this huge body of yours, there is an infinitesimally small seed called the Atma. If you give it nourishment, and let it grow and prosper, then it will show the Divine form of the universe. But where should we put this seed, how do we protect it and promote it to grow into a big tree? Can we put this seed in our palm and pour water on it? A seed will become a tree only if it is put in the soil and watered suitably. Even in that soil, if you put the seed too deep or
too shallow, it will not become a tree. In the soil of our heart, if we can put the seed of God’s name, and foster it with the water of love, it will sprout into a good tree.
